Me!!!  Well, as far as I know--so far we've only received his box and form letter, but no real letters yet.
All it said was that he was having fun.  I did get a little information from the Facebook group.  One of the moms got a call from her daughter who was coming home on a medical discharge.  The division didn't get their time to write last weekend due to making up a training day due to rain, so fingers crossed they got to write this weekend.  I've been writing letters whenever I can think of something to say, so I'm hoping he'll get those soon as well.  I think I've found a couple of photos of him on the US Recruit Division Command page on Facebook, and those have got me through some rough spots.  He's my only child, and still just 17.
The girl was in his division.  My son did 4 years of NJROTC in high school, so for him it's like summer camp--he's been physically training for years.  We kept him very close to us as well, so as much as I respect what he's doing it's me that wants him to come home.
Yes, We have a daughter in ship 03 div 297.  I had posted only 5 days after you--sorry I didn't locate your posting until now.  I have received only my first letter after form letter & end of the 3rd week call. Waiting for the next contact, I write daily and mess her tremediously too, we are very close.
We got our 2nd letter just today.  I have read here with n4m.com that our letters are like gold & the ice cream truck to the recruits.  I must say it is the same for the parents waiting to hear from them is golden & chocolate to me with a tear or two.  Got your hotel reservations yet?  We booked the next day after our form letter. Making plans for the long drive too, come on Sept 9th!

Hey there--everyone got their travel plans together?  What are you planning on doing while you're there?  My son will only have about 8 hours of liberty, but I'm there through Sunday.

Allison

Ready here, can we go yet??? Friday, after PIR we are doing lunch, the Gurnee Mill Mall--daughter requested a movie & pedicure with manicure and the mall can accommodate this plus they have a Bass Pro there to keep the guys happy (we're country folks).  Saturday undecided, as is Sunday--we will check out & be without a hotel room!  Where are you staying at?  We are at the Red Carpet Inn (5 mniutes from base) closer the better, we have never been to Chicago before.  How about you?
So far the plan for us is to head into Chicago for lunch at The Meatloaf Bakery, then the rest of the afternoon at the Museum of Science and Industry--they have an actual German submarine!  Then it's dinner at a Brazilian rodizio.  Of course, once he figures out there's a Six Flags nearby everything can change!  We're at the Ramada.  I've never been to Chicago before, so it will definitely be an adventure!

No call yet, but has everyone seen the division photo on the RTC Facebook page today?
