OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Got a phone call yesterday evening!!  Was so good to hear his tired yet wonderfully positive voice!
My son is also going to Groton.
Anyone else get a phone call tonight?!!!!  I was so excited to hear his voice!  Sweet!
Yes got a call so glad, my SR sounded really good and positive.
Mine too sounded great!  Tired, but great!

me too !

so jealous that others got phone calls. Fingers crossed I get one soon!

Don't worry mine was only a minute and he said he got jacked and had to hang up he said I love you and that was it. Hopefully you will get a call today. :)
if anyone has an extra spot on there list, Please let me know. I need an extra spot. I know they accept extras but I want to guarantee his spot. Thanks so much. I appreciate anything. :)
So, is it true they will allow more than 4 family members in if there are extra spots available?  I was under the impression it was only four passes period.

Yes - it's true - but there are rules....

Active military personnel, retired military, and veterans do not have to be listed on the access list to attend. They must show proper military ID and must arrive with someone on the access list or walk in. They do not have to be in uniform.

If you have more than 4 guests who wish to attend, you have 2 options. The first option is to write to your Recruit and ask him/her if he/she has a buddy at BC who does not have 4 guests coming and see if that Recruit can put the extra guest/s on his/her list and then make sure you know the name/s of that/those Recruit/s and the Division number. (If the buddy does not PIR for some reason, then the guest/s would have to go to the Visitor Center.) The other option would be to have the person/people go and go to the Visitor Center and possibly get to go in after everyone is seated--some do, some don't depending on the number of divisions graduating and the number of people attending who are on the list.

The extra guest/s will have to accompany someone who is on the access list to get on the RTC and have valid ID of course. The ID does not have to be a photo ID, especially for children, a birth certificate or Social Security card will work. Place the gate pass on the dash of the vehicle where indicated and have the IDs for all people in your vehicle, the car's registration (or rental agreement), and proof of insurance ready before you enter the gate.

Also go to this link PIR 10/07/2011 TG 47 (Divisions 329-340 & 947) I believe page 3-5 would have links you can go to, they were posted to me so I can see what they do in the case of brining an extra person.
