For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ok, I am bummed, I did not receive any call tonight. I am going crazy because my son was in sick bay on Tuesday and I thought he was going to call to night. I know on one hand I need to think no news is good news, but I received 5 letters today and he is confused and has to make some decisions and I was hoping to be able to give him my support. If anyone talks to their SR can you please ask them to give him a word of encouragement. I do not want to post his name, but if you tell them the SR with the large scar they will know who you are talking about. I just need to encourage him to stay strong and he can make it these last 4 weeks and not to give up. Thank you!

He was in 337 but has been moved to ship 5 for separation with a medical discharge. They are stating he does not have a medical waiver, but he DOES they just have not tried to verify it, so we are appealing it. I just pray we can get this nightmare settled. It is very upsetting because if we win the appeal he can't graduate with his division. Please keep him in your prayers to being able to win the appeal. Thank you, harleydml.

I found a letter from my son when I got home as well. His attitude is so much different. He says he will be happy to spend time with us when we are in town doing whatever we wish. They just want to get done and are counting the days. He said we know more about what's to come then they do.

I was so happy to hear some of you got phone calls but I'm right there with you Harleydml, no phone call yesterday and no letter either. Althought my daughter got a letter. I'm hoping maybe half got to call yesterday and the rest will get to call soon.

FWIW, my son said he really appreciated the questionaire form I sent him (someone here posted). Said it saved time.

Thanks, I feel alot better this morning. The reason I didn't get a letter was that he had sent his sister a 6 page letter and told her to share it with Dad & Mom. She works at my office and brought in for me to read. I was happy to hear he was one of 7 to past inspection. He had to have two cavities filled and then go have his only two wisdom teeth pulled. He did mention the talking and all the IT. Told my daughter that he probably would have already called home my now if they hadn't lost privilages. I'm still holding out hope for a phone call. PIR 4 weeks from today!

I forgot to ask him if he passed inspection, but he did say he got promoted to section leader because his locker was so neat (he has always been a bit compulsive). Said his strategy to lay low and go unnoticed failed.

I got my fifth letter today, postmarked the 6th. I thought I'd share this part for all of you since he addressed you specifically. Note, my hubby is in Division 338:
"So holiday routine, Monday. 2 days in a row. We got punished last night because people decided to be lazy and not dress their racks the right way or at all. So we got IT'd for about an hour. IT means intensive training. Then again early this morning. It sucks, but I think it's important that the division does this. Shows them that it's not a walk in the park. Makes them realize what this is about: hard work.
Mornings are hard. Every day. Everyone hates them because it means another 16 hour day ahead of them. At nights we get mail. And that's the only thing that we look forward to. We're trying to keep our heads up. I'm seeing improvements in everyone and myself. Let the Moms, Girlfriends, Dads, Fiances and wives know that we are doing our best and we can't wait to get home to all of you. It's what keeps us going."

LydiaEmily - My son is in Div 337, it was my daughter that started the Discussion Group for Div 337 PIR 10/07 on NavyRecruitTrainingCommand facebook page. I reconize your picture, you are using different names like me. I'm just sitting at work staring are my phone, just like at pot of water.......I just want it to ring and its harder knowing others in his Division have been able to make calls.
