From what I've heard only the SEAL group has a Hell week.
My husband said something to the affect of possibly being the "honor division" at PIR and getting an extra day or 2 of liberty before going to a school what does that mean?
When I talked to my sailor last week he said that Hell Week was coming up. My daughter is not a SEAL and she had Hell Week when she was in bootcamp.  They all have Hell Week. After that week all will get easier :)

My son is in HELL Week this week per his phone call last week.  He is in Div 338.  My husband was in the Navy in the 60's and he says that boot camp was not this intense back then.  My brother-in-law was in the Navy boot camp in the 1970's and he also states that they did not push this hard.  Maybe because this is a push group?????  My husband and I pray for their indurance and send encouraging letters everyday.  Please, everyone praise and encourage your recruit.  They have decided to do something honorable with their life and we owe them so much.

This is a push division, as confirmed by my SR last week.  The great thing is, in his thought process, that even though they will work harder because of the compressed time, they get to move on to the good stuff sooner!!!

I'm really looking forward to seeing them all at PIR.

I have talked to several kids that have already gone through boot camp and they say week 5 is fun but busy

I just got to talk to my son, I'm a happy Mom now.  I had to give the phone up to his Dad.  He couldn't call last week he was on watch duty.

Congratulations!!!!!  I know you must be thrilled now!  We were pathetic last week, when our son called - one of us was on the land line, the other on the cordless.  Good thing we were the only ones at home!!!

Hugs to you and your husband!

Those phone calls are gold....and so glad you got yours!!!!  We all acted so goofy  5 people gathered around the speaker phone.  Congratuations Browns 57!!!!!

I felt bad because my husband only called me and I had to relay the information to the rest of the family. I know his Mom was sad and kind of hurt by it, but he only had the one call. That call was probably the best moment in the last 4 weeks, even with both of us crying on our ends.

Hell Week is kind of misnamed. You can youtube the different weeks and watch videos of what they go through. Next week is probably going to be harder with all the tests and such. This week is mostly just lots of inspections and the like. Hopefully 338 pulls it together, because from what I understand they didn't understand neat & tidy. Haha.

LydiaEmily - please don't feel bad.  Sometimes as moms we don't always think clearly, and yes, maybe she was hurt, but you are his wife.  He should call you first, and I'm happy that he did.  If my son was married and called me first rather than his wife, I would want to know what in the world was wrong with him - regardless of my feelings!  :-)
He also said he knew his Mom would cry the whole time, lol. Which made me laugh cause I didn't cry until the end and then he started laughing and crying. My mother in law is incredibly level headed and I gave her all the news within minutes of hanging up. =)
