OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Depends on their rate. Some sailors leave a couple of hours after graduation, some leave the next day, some stay at Great Lakes. And the length of A school varies by rate. Dont worry, its not as bad as boot camp, He'll get his cell phone back so you should be able to talk most nights =)

I was very, very lucky. Bret stayed at GL and they even gave him liberty for the whole weekend so we got to spend the whole days and nights together. Best weekend of my life up until this Labor Day. I went to stay with him in VA where he's stationed now and it was amazing. It's been over a year since he graduated and although it hasn't been easy, we've learned to work at it together. =)

Oh, I didn't know that! Bret graduated last August, but I know some people even back then didn't get overnight liberty. Bret had to call in at certain times and he forgot once, so maybe lots of people did and that's why they got rid of it. I know lots of people get married grad weekend which is frowned upon Haha.
That sucks that he got deployed so soon...I can't imagine! No need to apologize, id be venting too. How long is his deployment? -

This is killing me lol..Ok my boyfriend left on the 1st of september when do think he will grad? i havent even heard from yet its been killing me i havent even got a letter...they cant write the 1st sundays right?

I saw a girls post earlier whose SR left on 9/6 and he was set to PIR on 10/28. Figure about 63 days. That's how many letters I sent to Bret, one for every day Haha. :) could be sooner though if he left after your man..

Each sailor is different. Bret was writing to me when he wassnt supposed to be. I dont think he mailed it until the second Sunday though so I got two or three letters at once three weeks in. The fist week I got the box with his clothes and his cell, the second I got the graduation letter with his address. Dont worry. You should get something soon. Are you in contact with his mom?

Nope. They do get a "wish list" but I wouldn't bet on him getting his wish. Do you know what his rate (job) is?

No I wish I did..I dont know nothing. I wish I could talk to him..I havent even met his mom yet we just started dating before he left Maybe she has his address but idk how to get in contact with her in i want to go to his grad but how will i do that if i dnt knw his mom or anything i thought they can only invite 4 people..idk what to do..cause it seem like to me after he grad that would be the last day i see him again for a while

He gets to choose the 4 people he wants there. If he puts your name on that list you can go separate or with her his mom/family. I did that I went with my boyfriends mom, sister and father. Your boyfriend should definitely know his "rate" they choose it before even enlisting. He left on september 1st so you should be getting a letter from him in about a week. Took about 1 month for my boyfriend to be in bootcamp before I received his first letter. They only get to write on sundays. But a lot of them write when they go to bed. You should get in contact with his mom. Later on in bootcamp they get 1 or 2 phone calls. Hes either going to call you or his mom. Mine called me and told me the date of the graduation and to coordinate it with his parents.
Also it is not going to be the last day youre going to see him. After bootcamp he goes to "a"-school like everyone else said. Some schooling is 1 month. Some is a year or so. Its going to be anywhere in the states. He is NOT going to me stationed outside of America any time soon. It takes about a year before his first deployment. There are "A" schools and C schools.
After he graduates bootcamp he might be put on hold in Chicago if there are not any spots for him in his "a" school. Basically he will have to wait there and will be put on "HOLD". Some people go straight to A school right after they graduate.
During the Graduation the Sailor has 3 days to spend with his loved ones. He might also have duty on one of those days meaning he will either have to be back earlier or might not be able to go out that day at all. They will have curfew of course as well about 9pm all 3 days.
When he goes to A school it will take him awhile to get settled in. This is where he is going to learn about his JOB/RATE so dont feel like he doesnt love you if he cant make the time. He simply just cant. Unless hes superman and can study and Ace all those exams. A school is crucial. He has to do the best to be on the top and have first pick in places he would like to go. There are A schools all over the US. So he wont be falling off the face of earth. You can fly to him on weekends and spend a few days with him once he earns liberty.

Well all I know is all of the rates schooling are all different if your job is easier lets say culinary specialist you have basically just 3 months of schooling then youre off to wherever they want to send you. I was just saying from my experience some people have longer schooling and ofcourse they are not going to deploy you until you finish your schooling.
