This Discussion is for loved ones of Recruits in Division 947. Your Recruits will be training together, so perhaps you would like to get to know each other on here.

Since your Recruit is in a performing division, you may also want to join the Group, 900's division sailors. There will be information on there that relates to your situation.

Besides playing an instrument or singing, there are also Recruits/Sailors who will do color guard, carry state flags, act as escorts, do rifle guard--lots of important jobs. They are usually involved in the PIR before theirs and sometimes in the one 2 weeks before their own as well.

Here is a site I found that explains about 900 Divisions.

I love this post jbsgirl.  Be proud of your daughter that she is standing up for herself and her faith.  I'm sure it's not always easy.

Bucksmom,

This was the first time that she has ever been attacked for her faith. But, she is a strong, strong girl. I am very proud of her and for standing tall and strong. I just felt the need to share this with you ladies! Today has been a pretty down day for me and thinking of what she wrote has lifted my spirits quite a bit. Just think, if everyone would remember that they are the light of the world and they let it shine before men at all times, how awesome would this world be?????

Blessed are those who are persecuted!  she is strong in her faith!
She is extremely strong in her faith!!!!! She makes me stronger in mine just listening to her and seeing the example she sets forth and seeing that light that she shines for all! She is such an amazing young lady and I am so lucky that I am her Mom and get to share in her wonderful light!
I feel the same about my daughter! She has been going to different services on the base and really enjoying them.
Oh yeah? That is very cool. We are LDS, so I know that is the service that my daughter is going to but just to know that she is standing tall above this adversity....it just makes my heart swell with pride!!!!

We are Lutheran but I ahve always encouraged my daughter to find her own way. She may find something that fits her life style better.

I agree with you though I do not care what service she attends, just that she is staying true to herself.

I, too, have always encouraged my kids to decide for themselves. I actually only became a member of the church 3 years ago along with my 18 yr old daughter and 15 yr old daughter. My husband and my 3 (step)kids were already members although inactive. It has always been their choice whether to be members or not though. They have free agency and I accept that. I was, however, ecstatic when my 9 yr old decided to be baptized when she was 8. And yes, as long as they are staying true to themselves!!!! That is what matters in the end!
How was everyone's weekend? Good I hope. We had a super busy weekend here with the kids going a million different places. But it was good. I am exhausted though from running all over the town!!!!

It was great!  Had to break down an replace tires on the daughters car, but then we spent the rest of our Saturday hiking in our beautiful mountains and getting snowed on!  It was so pretty.  Look at this!  Echo Lake - Mount Evans, Colorado.  I love where we live.  :-)  I know my son misses this, and is hoping to have some ski days around Christmas time.  So - this is what we do as empty nesters - no more soccer games.

Beautiful! Wow, you live in a wonderful place. I am sure your SR would love to get back for some chill time there.
Kathy, what a gorgeous picture!!!! One day, my husband and I will have time for stuff like that. But, I loved the busy activity of 2 different soccer games and a cross country race this weekend. I didn't get to see the games but watching my daughter come in 2nd at the race was beautiful!!!!!!!
