For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

No phone calls lately....May not happen until the "I'm a sailor" call. Sorry sometimes just works that way. They really only get 3 that is the 1st when they arrive then about half way through then after BS21.

We got letters today, my SR said they probably won't get to call until they pass battle stations because there is not a lot of team work and many SR's keep messing around. They had 2.5 hours of IT because of the non teamwork. He had been sick too, with a fever, cold and ear infection. My virtual potato soup didn't help:(. Two more weeks, I hope they go by as fast as the last 6.

Thanks for the info.. My SR told me that he would call me in 2 weeks. he called me 9/7. I guess it maybe after battle stations. Now im going to not to worry to much about missing his call.

aksr-my son is 3/335 too and I got a letter yesterday as well. He was sick for 3 days but said he is 100% better. He has the same story as yours with the lack of teamwork. Lets hope they can all pull it together!

I've gotten one phone call and four letters - just got another letter today. My SR has been sick with cold symptoms - two weeks now. Said he went to docs on the 18th - got some meds - alittle better - still pushing through it - no time to suffer. His letter read just this way. It's the shortest and most direct one I've gotten but I know they're humping hard. Can't wait for October 7th - I'm so excited but I'm sure not as much as him.

I got a letter from my son today! Sounding good, but busy. Sounds like things may ease up toward the end of next week - after chemical warfare training. The morale sounded really good and he said his group (336) is really starting to gel. They have a ways to go, but they are bonding. This letter gave me much relief!!

Glad to hear that they are doing good in Div 336. I am thankful that you posted this. I only got one letter about 2 weeks in and 1 phone call. Hope that I get to speak to my SR before the I am a "sailor" call.

2websurfers, I am sorry to have to delete this message, I understand that you are very excited, but BS 21 dates are not supposed to be published. Everyone can see our comments and we need to keep the safety of our SR's in mind.

Oh sorry - had no idea! The short story is the kids are doing well and great and are very excited about graduation. The time is flying by quickly for them and the 336 is starting to work together as a team.

It's all good we are all learning just need to follow a few of the community guidelines and publishing BS dates is one of those guidelines. it is great to hear that they are doing so well!!!!
