This Discussion is for loved ones of Recruits in Division 947. Your Recruits will be training together, so perhaps you would like to get to know each other on here.

Since your Recruit is in a performing division, you may also want to join the Group, 900's division sailors. There will be information on there that relates to your situation.

Besides playing an instrument or singing, there are also Recruits/Sailors who will do color guard, carry state flags, act as escorts, do rifle guard--lots of important jobs. They are usually involved in the PIR before theirs and sometimes in the one 2 weeks before their own as well.

Here is a site I found that explains about 900 Divisions.

My daughter got a call too!! He couldn't have picked a better day to call his sis. So happy for her. Unfortunately I can't talk to anybody right now as I go from stupid meeting to stupid meeting. She did text and say he is doing fantastic!
Kathy, that's awesome that she got a call from her brother! It was so nice to chat with my girl for a little while. Got to hear a hilarious story from her and had a hard time not spilling the beans about her surprise guest. Now I am not sure I want to say anything since her RDC's see all this stuff. I don't want any surprises ruined. :-) She is getting super excited about PIR and they are performing tomorrow!!!!! YAY.....we need to keep a look out for pictures of our kiddos on FB.
You know what? It really was awesome.  They are very close which makes me incredibly happy.   Finally got to talk with her and he said he passed his PFA, and when liberty call happens, all 947 familes should "keep our fannies in our seats and they will find us".  Yes - changed the quoted text, but fanny is nicer.  Lots of other good stuff, but overall, he is feeling good.  Then to top of my day, I got a letter from him too.  He told me that 947 is doing quite well - so those that didn't get a call or a letter, keep the faith - our young men and women are fab!
Pictures on FB?     Can you tell me who i need to 'friend' to be able to see any possible pictures?
Recruit Training Command just go to there page and like it then you will be able to see the photos
Thank you so much!!!  I'm pretty sure i found my sailor!!!!  how exciting!
Ugggghhhh so the reply button won't work right for me.....anyway. My SR had some great news about the division and that they are really working together as a team! That just makes me feel so good that they are doing well. My daughter also passed her PFA and had given me the same instructions in the letter I got yesterday and again on the phone today.
I finally got a call, too!  My first call since the security clearance call right after they got to RTC.  I missed the first couple of tries too because my phone doesn't get good service in the office.  I saw that missed call and almost threw up.  Fortunately she reached my husband, and he told her it was ok, to just call me back in 5 minutes, and then he got ahold of me and told me she'd be calling.  Thank the Good Lord!  I would have been beside myself.  She also talked to her sister.  She said they are performing this week and next, and that in tomorrow's they had to learn Oh Canada because of some special guest that's going to be there!  She has passed her tests and PF test and inspections, too, and said they might earn an honors division flag, so let's pray for them that they do!  They deserve it, for all their hard work PLUS the extra performance practices.  Ah, so good to hear her voice!  I feel so much better, and now it's only two weeks until we see them.  I'll be looking for pictures tomorrow, too.  Have a great evening, 947 Moms!!
Awesome news!  I am SO glad you got to talk to her.  Great feeling.  Just fab.  My son same same things.  Hooyah 947!

I love the pictures posted on facebook from todays PIR! I also loved seeing my SR!  I have had the best week...a letter, a call, and saw a picture of him! I can't wait for October 7!

This week has just been so awesome! I too got a letter, a phone call and saw a picture of my girl!!!!!
Gosh, it feels great, doesn't it?  LIke finally getting a drink when you're in the desert.
