My fiance left Tuesday for basic and this is our first time away from each other this long with no communication. I cried the first and second day over everything and then today i was fine until i came home not seeing him here. I keep telling myself he will be back soon but i don't know how long i can tell myself that before I go crazy. My parents don't approve of him in the military so all i have are his parents but they can only help me so much. The rest is on me, I try and stay busy during the day to tire me out and keep me out of the house but my mind always goes back to him. And at night I lay down and think about him and what time it is for him and if he's thinking about me and when i will get his clothes and stuff because he told me there's something for me in the pocket. I'm trying to stay as calm and collected as i can but nobody understands what I'm going through here. I wrote him a letter last night and it helped me a lot I felt like i talked to him and told him the way i feel whether i send them to him or not it helped until I try and go to bed. This site has helped me a lot already I just miss him so much and i'm worried about him. I know its just basic and he's safe it will be worse on his first deployment. I can't stop thinking about him..

I got his address today too! I was super excited! and surprised at how fast i got it! I will be mailing him pics and all the letters i wrote tomorrow! :) He graduates November 4 too sooner than i thought! && 2 days before his birthday! :) I hope he will be on liberty so we can spend time with him! :))
Hey glad to read your doing better. I agree with others the first few days and week are hard. Writing to your sailor does help let's you talk about anything you'd talk to him about on any normal day. If he is doing well he may even get to call you! I got a call from my sailor 3 weeks after he left it was such a wonderful suprise! So if you haven't already make sure he has a calling card so that he can call you if given the chance! I also included pictures or news clips that I thought he would like in my letters, so that he has little pieces of home. Only small things though that fit in standard size letters but he loves it. They really love getting mail so I just try to send something as often as I can. It really helps in feeling still connected. Like others have said stay busy and stay positive it does get easier. Once bootcamp is over you will be able to talk more but the time he is there only will make you two stronger. And remember if you need anyone to talk to you've got all of us here going through the same thing and are always here to talk to each other!
It helps a lot! I didnt think it would but i thankfully tried anyways! He has a calling card I can't wait to hear his voice! I never thought of news clips hmmm I will definitely have to cut some out! I am very scared he will come back and feel out of place, he is the kind if he doesn't feel "in the loop" he will push away so i try to keep him updated as much as i can in my letters! I can't wait for a school but absence does make the heart grow fonder and i cannot wait to be with him again! And everyone has helped me so much already! Thank you!
I hear ya on that I'm so excited/nervous to see my bf only 17 more days!!! I'm not sure how he will adjust being back in the "real world". I guess in your case just do what your doing and try your best to keep him informed on everything. Time has surprisingly gone by much faster then I thought it would, stay as busy as you can. I went from being sad he was gone to excited to see him soon! Planning the trip to IL has given me (and his mom) something to do and something to look forward to. It was definitely an adjustment to go from being with someone all the time to not even being able to talk to him. When you get that first call it's like the greatest thing ever... I normally always have lots to say and at first I was so speachless to talk to him. When my bf called I missed it the first time it's an 847 area code, luckily he called back right away. You prob already do but just keep your phone with you all the time! :-)
Ohh yes my phone is with me 24/7 and every time the house phone rings i jump to see the area code! im so scared to miss his call! was it usually on weekends?? I feel like when he calls i wont be able to talk ill just be so overwhelmed with emotions i wont be able to talk! I can write like crazy though! Im sending his first letters and pictures tomorrow! :) Very excited to here from him soon!
The first call I got from my bf was on sept 1 which was a Thursday and he called a little before 4:30. I also got a phone called yesterday ( Wednesday) and he called around 6:30 so phone call times seem to be sorta random be said be should get one more call hopefully next week or beginning of the following week he wasn't sure when it woudle be. And I know what you mean I get so speachless when I'm on the phone with my bf I always have so much to say and before never had trouble talking to him on the phone I'm just so excited I can't talk... When he has to go it's so hard but I do my best not to cry! Haha I know I'm kind of a baby I can't help it. My bf definitely takes me being speechless for a change to talk about whatever he wants which is fine with me he seems to have lots to talk about :-)
I know that if i talked to him alone i would just cry but if im with his family ill be fine until i get off the phone! I just hope i dont miss it i will be so upset! I hope he just talks and i dont have to say anything but hi and i love you! I am such a baby! I cry over everything and im excited to see how i handle the phone call!
Just do your best I'm sure you will do fine!  the excitement sorta gets to me and like I said I get sorta speechless... but your sailor will be just so happy to hear your voice!!! im sure he will have so much to say and eventually you will find your voice and be able to say something :-)     I do worry about missing phone calls too but I always have my phone with me.  actually the very first time he called i missed it so he called his mom and talked to her for a second and she texted me which luckily i saw and he called me right back.  i do get sad when we he has to go and i cry all over again once we hang up... but only from missing him.  but now i know only 12 more days and I will get to see him ( even though it's only for a day).   I jsut try my best not to cry on the phone so that he doesnt have to hear me be sad.    I hope you get your first call soon!!!!
Awwww Congrats!! :) I hope so too! Tuesday he will start week 3! I cant believe how fast time has flown at this rate i'll be with him in no time! I hope he gets a couple days liberty since his a school is in GL. and his birthday is 2 days after graduation! At this point i just want to hear his voice or get a letter! That will make me soo happy!
Im sending 8 of my fiances letters tomorrow and i just feel empty all of a sudden. Should I send them all together or split them up?
i splitted mine up just in case one of them gets lost he would get the others.
I didn't think about that :( ohh no! Im definitely gonna split them up next time!
