OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Basically they can walk to the NEX without the RDC's being right there. They don't get to leave base or anything just a bit more freedom. YEA!!!!! For them.

my husband said on the phone that he had run out of envelopes and was hoping theyd be able to go to NEX soon so he could buy a few more. he felt bad cuz we hadnt been getting letters.. so hopefully 334 is allowed to do the same.

I don't know it all depends on if they passed drill or not. That is how 333 earned it. I am sure that 334 did as well I believe they do all of that stuff together.

well they earned their 15 min phone call friday for something good they did for sure. im not sure what it was but he didnt mention anything other than.. "i get to see you in just 2 weeks!! and im almost done :) its getting better and better by the day". and then hed joke around witth me. he was in such a great mood. so at least all is going good.

That is great! So they must have been doing drill with 333. The story was they were going to the NEX and if they had phone cards could call. At least that is what I had heard from on of the other moms. I did not get a call :) I think my girl was on watch!

Does anyone know how long the walk is from the parking area to the PIR ceremony-or is there a shuttle bus on the base?

All of this information is in the list of things on the right under member pictures. You will have to click on see all. From what I read the shuttle is about a half a mile walk and the parking is about 5 or 6 blocks. They say to wear comfortable shoes because you will be walking a lot.
Hope this helps. There are some helpful links about what to bring, where to eat, things to see. It is worth checking it all out.

marywil, Can you tell me why it is suggested to bring an umbrella ... when it looks like the PIR is held in the great hall ..under cover? we are trying to limit stuff to bring. Thanks

Because the walk from parking or shuttle is a ways. I am not bringing one. I live in oregon and rain does not bug me. hahah.
Wind that is a different story, but it would probably blow the thing right out of my hand. LOL
