Mom

Could you help OS2 out? Our Internet, inter net, intern et, interment, internment, internee, in... is too slow

She is trying to get the veteran places (VA, FA, FAA, FAQ, FAX, FDA, VAT" id="sp-7" class="spell"">VFA, VHF, FEW, FWD, FAWN, FOWL, FAWNS, FEWER" id="sp-8" class="spell""&g..., American Legions...)
in the Norfolk area also the VA Hospital/Offices.  She is getting out
and will need help getting all of the paper work done which is what the
veteran's places do so that nothing is missed by VA.

she is getting kicked out due to her weight and failing the physical
readiness tests well 3 in the past 4 years.  She has a thyroid problem.
I just want to make sure that she can get the resources that she can

She will got through a check out procedure and they can help her. If not she needs to go to the Vetrens affaiirs office either on the base or there in Norfolk. If you can get us her name we can try and see if the FRG will help point her in the right direction.

thank you i will pass this on .

tasstables    I want to help your daughter but my knowledge is so limited.  I know you want to help also--because you are MOM!!!!   I would start by asking your daughter for the name and phone # to this sailors recruiter and I would think he could answer questions or direct you.  I would also go online to look up the Veterans Administration in/or near where she will go when off of the ship.    I know I am not helping much but I wanted to at least respond to your plea so you wouldnt feel alone.  I just know in the past we have had issues and we have always called the recruiter for help.     Sharon
thank you. I am passing all this to the Girl ( her family does not know yet so I will not use her name.
I saw your post this morning and they will give her a packet, however I have gathered the info you need,  I just couldn't reply as I man the phones all day at work.  Email me at cbluiyz@gmail.com.  I also messaged Maryellen to get my info to you so if you already have it cool.  Colleen
Thank you.

Don't know if anyone has told you this yet.  If not -- tell her she needs to talk to her "career counselor" and get to the "TAPS Bldg" on the base.  Derrick told me she will have a career counselor available on the ship and on the base, and the TAPS Bldg is at/near Gate 3A.  TAPS will assist with everything she needs.  She will also go thru exit physical and dental exam, where ALL of her physical issues will be documented. Tell her not to worry, this is a process, and will probably take weeks to accomplish.  She will have time and assistance to get through everything while she is separated.

Good luck Brenda --

I have passed this on. Thank you.
Tasstables   Thank you to you and your daughter for trying to help this sailor out.   I am so glad to know that if my son were to need help that he would be able to have the support of such a caring person as your daughter and the Navy Moms!!!
I am doing what I hope any MOM on here would do for a sailor in need .. I know the girl has not told her family. And she has a lot of stess on her. I am passing any information on to her as  I get it .  I never know if someday my own daughter comes to me and says I am getting out .( if fact my first thought it was my daughter ). .. I and can write the MoM's and say thank you for helping get the information she needed to get out.  And thank you from my Daughter (Tonya) she is the one who takes theses (kids even the ones older then her) and trys to help them out.. I dont even know if the mother of this girl is on this site. But if she is stand by your child she needs your love things happen .
