OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

This Discussion is for loved ones of Recruits in Division 947. Your Recruits will be training together, so perhaps you would like to get to know each other on here.

Since your Recruit is in a performing division, you may also want to join the Group, 900's division sailors. There will be information on there that relates to your situation.

Besides playing an instrument or singing, there are also Recruits/Sailors who will do color guard, carry state flags, act as escorts, do rifle guard--lots of important jobs. They are usually involved in the PIR before theirs and sometimes in the one 2 weeks before their own as well.

Here is a site I found that explains about 900 Divisions.

I would love to see the quote also!!    I sent my daughter 2 questionaires and she completed them both...  she loved them and wants more!! lol
Hi mspurple67, I sent you a friend request, so I can message you the quotes.
Can you believe we are getting so close? It is like a dream. I am looking forward to seeing you all!
I agree Aaron's mom!  Eight days and a wake-up.  Of course, I probably won't sleep at all next Thursday night, so I'm not sure how to count that.....!
Ladies - Wacky Wednesday on the RTC Facebook page at Noon CT!  Maybe one of us will win!  I won't, because I have to use my phone to access it and it takes way too long.  :(  But I'll try anyway!
Ready to go?  I am!  Leaving on Wednesday and driving to Des Moines, then on to GL Thursday, pick up the college daughter who had to fly to prevent missing too many classes, and then see you at the Meet and Greet!  Plus, as an added bonus - today is letter day for me.  EXCITED!

Ready!  I took all of next week as vacation because I'm already basically useless at work!  We leave Thursday after college daughter's mid-term so may not make the meet & greet.  Yesterday was letter day for us, we got two - one for us and one for her sister!  They were really good letters too, I can tell that she is on the upside because it's getting close, and they are very busy for the remainder of the time.  Lots of tests and inspections coming up too!  I'm praying for all of them, I want them ALL to be Sailors next week!

I know what you mean - I've been praying for all of the divisions in our training group and will keep my blue candle lit until we are closing the garage door for our drive to GL.  I feel like every one of these young men and women belong to me.  Today is my letter day, but we are last stop on the route, so nothing for a couple more hours at least.
OH and another thing!  Tomorrow is PIR so we may have more great pictures of our SR's performing, something else for us to look forward to!
Yay! Last week was wonderful. See you all real soon.
Our SR's are performing at PIR right at this moment, yay!  Next week we will be sitting in the hall, seeing it for ourselves.  I know we are all very excited!

Thanks for saying that Darlene - I love having this thought in my mind.  :-)  I am so excited I just don't know how to contain myself.
