OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

This Discussion is for loved ones of Recruits in Division 947. Your Recruits will be training together, so perhaps you would like to get to know each other on here.

Since your Recruit is in a performing division, you may also want to join the Group, 900's division sailors. There will be information on there that relates to your situation.

Besides playing an instrument or singing, there are also Recruits/Sailors who will do color guard, carry state flags, act as escorts, do rifle guard--lots of important jobs. They are usually involved in the PIR before theirs and sometimes in the one 2 weeks before their own as well.

Here is a site I found that explains about 900 Divisions.

Thank you Kathy!!!!! I am so grateful that she got this picture of my girl!!!!!!
Chatting with my daughter on Facebook and she says they get to call tonight!  She said they were rewarded with fast food, computer time and/or phone calls!  She's dividing her time between me and her friends but that's ok, it's great to hear from her!  I hope you all got to hear from your SR , too!
I love talking to my son! He said it's been a good day. Subway sammies, Facebook time and a phone call!
I was really surprised by the fact that my daughter passed on the FB time!!!!! Glad though because she might have found out about Austin going with us......DO NOT want that happening!!!!!!

Maybe she had duty or something and couldn't participate.  :(  But only a few days and we'll be hearing from them again, probably Wednesday afternoon!!

Since I will not be home or on the computer when they go through BS-21.....I got this image for ALL of DIV 947!!!!!!!! I cannnot wait to see our guys and girls.......errrrr.....let's go with men and women!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being a part of this group has helped me so much with this journey and I hope to keep in touch with all of you even after PIR!!!!!
I hope so too!  Love the image.  Me and my mom both bought our blue candles yesterday, we are all set for the week.  My daughter sounded so great when we chatted last night, much more like her normal happy self.  It eases some of the ache in my heart!  A few more days and we get hugs and kisses, I cannot wait!  I've stayed busy cross stitching all day to keep my mind off of it for a little while.

gomobch - we love you and love your post, but I had to delete it becauseyou posted last names as well as locations.  I'm so very sorry.  I will give you some additional information in a sec.

Only 2 Days and change to PIR Hoohrah
