Hello - I've been reading a lot of bootcamp experiences and it sounds like they can only write letters? I don't want to sound dumb and don't want to assume things either, but will they have internet/email access while in bootcamp? Just want to know how my boyfriend and I will plan our communication setup once he get into bootcamp. He hasn't even submitted any application yet, but just want to include it in our discussions about joining the navy, to make things easier and manageable.

Thank you in advance! :)

They do not get internet access most if the time. They write letters and you get a phone call once in a blue moon. They have opportunity to earn extra phone calls and possibly internet time but they have to buy the time it is not free and there are no web cams so it was better for my hubby to call so we could hear each others voices!! There is no communication for the first two weeks or so k
Oh, ok. Got it. Thanks so much! :)
They are only guaranteed letter-writing, yes. My husband was able to use their classroom computer to log onto his email once or twice towards the end. Only because Google wasn't blocked, and even then he could only shoot me a couple of emails and it wasn't really a solid form of communication. You can send him letters every day, and he can mail letters once a week.
Thanks for the info! Appreciate it! :)
oh wow! thanks for the info! :)
nope the only snail mail. the only access he'll have to a computer is the classes to finish bootcamp. its not so bad once the letters start coming
yeah, snail mail would be refreshing in this age of technology. thanks for the reply! appreciate it! :)
you're welcome =)
