I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!  Got 2 letters from my son (sailor) yesterday! Did a happy dance all the way back from the mailbox. He says boot is really  tough, very very very scheduled and time conscious, but, as he and I like to say HE'S GOT THIS! I told him that should be his mantra (i say that in every letter I write).  He's met another nuke and they seem to have a LOT in common--so happy to hear that!  I think I've read his letter 10 times since I opened it.  He's "Stick 5 in the Starbord Watch Section"...he's a flag bearer.  I am floating on air today. :)

Yeah, glad you got your letters.
Congrats on your letter Suebal!
I received my daughter's 2nd letter yesterday. This letter was a bit down beat. She doesn't feel well because of the flu vaccine that was given to her plus she's missing the comforts of home, her family and especially the hugs. But overall, she says she's fine and she will get through this! She's says its hard especially squeezing in time to study which she does at night. Well I guess she's learning to toughen up :o) Hopefully her letters will get a bit more cheery as time goes on. The whole process will take her through different phases. I'm sure her spirits will lift up once she receives all the letters I sent. I know she hasn't gotten them yet. There was no mention of it plus I sent her a couple of photos so that should make her feel happy.
hope she feels better soon!
i know my SR tries to keep his letters light so i dont worry about him lol
so they havent gotten letters yet?
hopefully it all catches up to them soon!
Oh my...they haven't gotten their letters yet?  LOL My son is going to be buried! :)  It's a good thing...perhaps I should have written--in teeny weeny letters-on each envelope the date the letter was written (so he could read them in order)...Oh well, to paraphrase Dory (Finding Nemo), "just keep writing, just keep writing, just keep writing wiriting writing...what do we do? We write!"  Ladies, I hope everyone has the most OUTSTANDING day!
I number all my letters and the outside of the envelope. I got that tip a long time ago from one of the moms. Now that I know the letters will be held up, I'm glad I numbered them.

I'm so sorry you're having a rough day.  I've been weepy all day myself...missing my son something awful.  Thankfully it comes and goes.  Very thankful for waterproof mascara :)

agreed about the waterproof mascara! I still tear up :(
its so hard..
Suebal and BSU, hope you ladies have a better day tomorrow :o) I don't cry but I've been having daily headaches and migraines since a few days before my daughter left. It helps to watch movies and read books to keep my mind occupied on other things.
Hi Wanda - Yeah...yesterday was a little better...a little.  I just miss him is all.  A lot. Hope you're doing ok too! :)
Hi Suebal, today I had a better day; no headaches :o)
Now I'm stressing over a couple of her student loans. I'm trying to defer them but the banks are not making it easy for me, as usual. I have a power of attorney though. So hopefully things will fall into place.
