Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

You can go immediately, just be sure they know you're on Tricare Standard and they accept it. The ones who do know the routine. You should know his SSN, as that is how they will identify you from now on. Your military ID card will be your insurance card.
Dental is a different provider, you'l have to find out who you're signed up with. I'm on Delta as a retiree, others here are on Concordia.

for dental you have to sign up online Its United Concordia your first time you have to pay right then its like 12$ for just a spouse and 32$ for a family also after the first time they will take it directly out of his paycheck

Hi again Laney!
I got my paperwork to get my ID card about the 3rd or 4th week thatmy husband was in bootcamp. You then have to go to a military base to get your card. I suggest going on the base's website and calling the id office to make an appontment so you don't have to wait a long time. When you go to get your ID they should send you over to the tricare office to get setup (if they don't ask where it is). You are automatically enrolled in Tricare Standard when your husband entered you into the DEERS system and they will show you the other options that you can choose and explain the benefits and how each plan works, they will also help you find a doctor who accepts tricare. Dental is optional, they will give you a form that you can mail in if you want dental insurance, I believe it comes at a bit of an extra cost per month btu I don't think it's very expensive.
