I have been reading posts from PIR date 11/18/11 and noticed that some people have received their first letters and even a phone call. Uggh. I'm trying to stay positive, but feeling a little jealous right now. Lol pray to god our division isn't struggling. Can't figure out how they have the same PIR and got letters last week. On a positive note, I saw a post that said they usually are given their first time to write by their second sunday at BC. That would mean today was "letter" day. But as murphy would have it, tomorrows holiday is going to delay our receipt. As you can probably tel, I'm going back and forth with myself on the negative and positive. Lmao Basically just rambling. Sorry ladies! Going crazy! Missing my baby!!!!
I think everyone who's SR in in the same ship and division here are feeling the same way. I don't think I've seen anyone from our same division has gotten anything yet, no call or letter. It kinda makes me worry that there is a problem.  We have not heard from our SR for 20 days as of today,  except for the little note on the back of his form letter. We are at the point we want to just sit and scream. I don't know how much more we can stand. We continue to write but we really have to watch what we are writing so our frustration doesn't show. So NO you are not crazy, the Navy is!!! :) And ramble all you want we are all there beside you feeling and rambling the same.
I do!  I just wish he could call.  Nothing yesterday.  Maybe today?!!  I guess we'll have to wait until Tuesday to see if he's been allowed to write yet. (sigh) :*(
No mail or phone call as of yet. Its been 19 days since we've heard anything so I guess my question is do you have any insight why its taking so long??  We are just going crazy waiting. By the way good for you and your boyfriend for both serving your country. Your amazing. I guess it will be easy to understand what is going on and how to best support each other also. Great to meet you on here.

Thanks so much for the insight.  I am holding my breath waiting to hear from by son. In the short note he wrote on the back of his paperwork he mentioned that the RDCs were mean, but in a different way than he had expected.  Any clue to what he may have been referring to?  He also mentioned that things were going well and he was being spotlighted... I've never heard him use that term before.  I hope it's a good thing!  Thanks again for listening to us poor moms and answering our questions.  You ROCK!!

It is great to have you as a source of information. My head knows that he is doing what he needs to do and they are making him into an awesome person, but my heart however doesn't like it one bit!! haha

I just pulled this from the US NAVY website

"Because of the structured nature of recruit training, your recruit will not be able to contact you regularly. Your recruit is given a short phone call upon arrival to let you know that he or she arrived safely. Your recruit will also be given phone calls from time to time throughout training as a reward for outstanding performance. Your recruit's primary means of communicating with family and friends is via the US mail. We highly encourage you to write your recruit as often as you like. Recruits will receive your letters throughout the week but can only respond to them during "holiday routine," on Sunday mornings and non-training days."

good to know, we continue to write, write, write. I am glad you and my Courtney are able to talk. I think it is really good for her to have you since you have sooooo much in common.
Still no letter or phone call as of today :(

I

have a question about liberty after PIR. I know my daughter will want some alone time with her husband without everyone around, is it ok for them to hang in the motel room for a while or is that a no-no. We don't want to get him in trouble. But after that long apart I know she will want some cuddle time with him. I know we read up on things he can and can't do like hold hands and get dirty :) Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks you don't know how happy my girl is to hear that. The walking arm in arm she knew about and I told her that was way more classy anyway. Thanks for the info.
I have been reading your posts...Im right there with you!! The only letter I have gotten is tje short paragraph on the back of the paperwork that he sent home. Im going crazy not hearing from him!! I keep writing..but i realy wish I knew how he is handing the whole thing! Do you think they just dont allow them to write us when they are going thru the realy tough part?? I keep writing him and encouraging him...I just wish I woul hear something from him!
