I cannot find any other group out there that has loved ones leaving December 2011.  Looking for others to connect with.

That's what I don't get about them moving our dates up just do we can leave and wait 2 or more weeks for it to fill. MEPS shuts down for 2 weeks at the end of December for exodus anyways. It doesn't make sense but I will just do what I'm told and not question it. I feel like I have a LOT of work to do PT-wise still and I hope 50-ish days is enough time. The first 2 PRTs don't count but if you don't pass the 3rd one, you don't graduate with your original DIV. I don't want to spend any more time there than I have to! I just talked to a girl at our last DEP meeting on Thursday who just graduated A school a week ago and she said she was really nervous when she went but she did fine. I doubt she is as worried as I am though. She said she loved her Navy life, and that's good news! haha
ya thats what i get told by everyone too..... well the officers there have family to go to for the holidays. And I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. You will do fine. time will fly in boot camp
I hope so! D:
My main motivation is my family, especially my grandma. She believes in me more than anyone I know and it means a lot to her for me to finish and make a good life for myself outside of the small town I live in. I don't want to disappoint her and I think making her proud of me will help push me through any hard times I have there. She is so excited and ready for me to start, we talk about it on the phone every day. My mom and dad are a different story though. They kind of don't think I can or will do it. My mom probably won't realize I'm actually gone and can't talk to her until I'm already there. Sounds sad, but that's just how she is. I try to get her to join this site or look at other sites I tell her, but she's always too busy and doesn't really take me seriously. I've been in DEP since APRIL, by the way lol
well she will learn. Just keep your head high and say yo can do it

Skyla - You need to talk to "Nukette" on NavyDEP.com.

She is a freshly minted female sailor that graduated from boot camp this past friday.  Alot of deppers are asking her questions.

She posted a section called "I'm back" at this link...

http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2000

Hopefully she can answer some of your questions...  She is an awesome person....

Thank you, Craig! I will definitely take a look at this.

Here is what she wrote:

From Nukette....

Hey everyone! I just graduated yesterday, and I'm waiting at the airport to head to Charleston. My flight leaves at 1645, so it's going to be a while! I got my first choice on rates, so I'll be an ET. Bootcamp was easy for me. It's 90% following directions. Anyways, I'll be around here again as much as I can and I'll be happy to answer any questions!

You're right, Christina. Thanks. How old are you, by the way? You may have told me in an earlier reply but my mind is all over the place these last few days. I have family in CO that I've yet to have a chance to visit. I've always wanted to go & it isn't too terribly far from Oklahoma.
I'm 18....I just graduated high school last year :).....Oh what part of CO does your family live in???
Aurora? That's probably not even close to what it should be. Those are the letters that come to mind when I think of it. Don't laugh! :P

Congrats on graduation!
I wish I would have done this when I was 18 instead of now. I'm 21 and I haven't done much with myself since I graduated highschool. I never considered the military until recently and I've had to learn a lot of stuff the hard way and I think this is going to be a really good thing for me. I am optimistic even if I'm scared.
Oh thanks :). Oh cool I live in Colorado Springs.. And i totally think the same thing about it being a good thing... Ya i feel like i have nothing to do with my life so i chose the Navy
Great choice! :)
