OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

A-School Class 1152T
Good Morning All,
I thought I would start a discussion group for my son's A-school Class 1152T. The class started on Monday, Oct. 3rd.
I am going for a visit this weekend and will give an update........I am so excited to spend time with my son and very excited to see the city as this will be my first time to Charleston, SC. I'm staying at Hampton Inn - North Charleston. Anyone stayed there before? South Living recommends Hyman's Restaurant and Palmetto Carriage Tours; hoping to try them both :-)

Yay! I just heard from my nuke! All is well.....says the math is easy, but is having to actually study (unlike in high school)... says he is having to study the electronic terminology. They have to get it in one day.....memorization time for him :-) His class is from 7am 'til 4pm and then study time starts at 6pm going until 8:30pm or so every evening. He sounded GREAT!!! He is still working on the push ups (got 5 more to go)..... he says he feels confident that he'll get there though :-) I can't wait to see him tomorrow night!

Hello all, Just a little ahead of your group with A School. My son is an ELT. He has had to study a lot. Said he is finding that he needs to put in more hours of study time than others (he feels) but seems to be doing ok. After first week, he text me and said so much info getting thrown at them it feels like getting hit in the face with a fire hose! On the main site is a posting from another member from her sailor who is in fleet after completing Nuke school. It has lots of good advice. I sent it to him for support and good suggestions.
He was happy to get back into civilian clothes. He seems to be getting into a routine with study and all the other Navy stuff. He seems to be the typical Nuke - didn't need to study too much in H.S. finding it is much different now. Encouraging him all the time with texts and posts on FB. Seems that during the week he is overloaded with school etc but does take time to call me on the weekend - which I appreciate and love to hear from him.
Hope this helps. I know for our family it seemed strange that we got to talk to him a lot while on hold waiting to start A School but then communication backed off. After reading posts on the main site, I realized how much time he was spending with school. Then I understood.
Also, not sure what the letter means after the class #. Still learning, also :)

Don't know if you will see this or if it's a little to late... My bf just got down to SC for a school I haven't been to visit him but I've been to Charleston before and went to a seafood restaurant called Aw Schucks. I had crab and it was the best sea food place I've ever been too! I was with a team of about 40 rowers but still had a great experience at that resultant. We got to sit on the patio and I remember everything just being so good. Sorry I don't remember exactly where in Charleston it is located but if you like fresh seafood it's a good place to try. :-)

I heard from my son yesterday; it was a quick call. Good news, he passed his first A-school test and passed the PFT! Whew! Is everyone else doing okay?
I think the Navy should have a New Sailor's Mom Orientation Class......oh, the stress of it all!! LOL!

Hi guys. 1152T is a class of ET's.
1152A would be a class of MM's.
1152MT would be a class of EM's and ET's.
( A lot of classes have both until the very end, then I believe the EM's split from the ET's the last few weeks of A school.)

p.s. one of my son's favorite care packages so far was a shoe box with an attached lid that I made
into a "medicine chest".... I put all kinds of first aid supplies, OTC stuff, bug repellent spray, bug bite itch spray,
allegra, advil, tylenol, an adhesive bandage, bandaids, etc. and made a "legend" for the OTC stuff with the name of the item
and when to use it, and how much I recommended taking. My son has always hated taking medicine, but after BC he had a horrible cough/cold that just wouldn't go away. Everyone in BC was afraid to go to medical because they didn't want to be set back in any way, so I told him he had better learn how to take care of himself. He loved it, and more importantly, I think he's used it! :)

not sure about the B...??? but if that's what he's given you, just keep using it until
you hear something else. I've only heard of A, M, MT and T being used after the class #...
For a long time, I only used class number (no letter) and my son received his letters and packages
without any problem. The only time there have been problems is when there are 2 guys with the same
name in the same class, and the Moms had to add the last 4 digits of their soc. sec. number to the
name line....
