For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

You have no idea how good it was and how surprised I was to hear his voice! It was soooo nice of them! it looks like as of right now at least we will be going to norfolk, virginia in december. Who knows if itwill change tho lol hes excited because he will be working on the same ship my dad did. I cant believe im moving so soon! So much planning, not enough time! Lol im excited tho and friday is right around the corner! Cant wait!

That's great you know where you are going already, I am so anxious to hear where my son is going!! He is in as "undesignated", so A school in GL and then I haven't heard where he will go after that....What job did your husband sign up for?

You are so lucky that he's staying in GL for Aschool. You get the whole weekend with him! Mine is going to be a Corpsman and school is in San Antonio. After that, it depends on which type of corpsman he gets to be as to which school is next. He wants to be a FMF corpman, which would involve school with the marines also. Hope it's available since he's got his heart set on it.
Sadams, Virginia is very nice. We live in South Carolina, and the weather is very pleasant. Of course, snow shuts everything down completely! No one knows how to drive in it! BTW, I love the picture of your little girl. The dress is so cute!

We are lucky we have the whole weekend with him....hoping his drs appt goes well tomorrow!! No news is good news!! Anyway Jacket, hope you have a safe trip, be careful and take your time! We will be going to Sarges Meet and Greet, hope to see you there!!

Thank you so much. My husband thought the dress was cheesy lol but it was just sitting in her closet for so long and after he joined I was excited to finally have a use for it! Lol yeah ive vacationed in VA a few times so at least I know the area and my older brother lived in VA Beach for a while so hes been giving me some tips, also my dad was stationed there and knows a lot about it too and he was stationed on the same ship my husband got too. So theres a plus or 2 for me lol

Long story short, hes colorblind and all the jobs available at the time had that restriction, so hes undesignated as well. It stinks too because he scored in the 96% on the asvab and could go for any rate he wanted. So hes in GL too for school. Ive heard usually undesignated get norfolk or san diego but really it could be anywhere. Good luck to him. Norfolk wasnt our first pick but im TRYing to be excited about it lol

So excited guys, I think we will be going to Sarge's meet and greet too. I will have my N4M name on my name tag. We leave tomorrow afternoon to drive to Dallas, then fly out Thursday morning. Can you believe it is only 2 days away??

I will definately be at Sarge's. It sounded a lot better. I made my name badge tonight. I will wear it to Sarge's and to PIR. We are leaving tomorrow about 7pm. Will be a long drive, but we couldn't afford the plane tickets for three of us. My son has never been out of the south, so it will be a cool experience for him.
Spontino and Sadams...what does undesignated do? Do they decide later? When my son went to MEPS, they first told him no jobs available, then the recruiter called his chief and the chief called and talked to someone; in the meantime, a job came up and it was exactly what he wanted. So he never had to go thorough any decisions.
AJM...have a safe drive to Dallas! I guess our calls will come sometime midday Thursday. Makes me nervous to have it so late; at least I feel comfortable that they will all pass. They really seem to have a good division.

I can't explain the undesignated very well...not even sure I understand it but he didn't want to wait for the job he was looking for and this was all that was available.....and I will be the one at the Meet and Greet without the name tag, lol because I am not very crafty!! See you all soon!!
