For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Well mine is on his way...we went to the swearing in then went to the airport for awhile... their plane wasn't leaving till 5 pm so hes to text when they get to chicago then call me when they are allowed to make their call.... I have a feeling it will be a late one!

Talked to my son 15 min before he boarded at 2:40pm havn't talked to him since, now I just wait, what a long day!!! hope I don't sleep through the phone call that would be horrible. Good luck to all you waiting mom's to.

Good luck moms. I still can't sleep! He is their's now. A lot harder than I thought. I received a call when he was at Ohare waiting for the planes, and he was so excited about meeting people from Conneticut, California...then 2 hours later I get the 10 second call, I love you, I'm here, gotta go. Ugh!

I got my phone call at 10:15 last night, slept with the phone, but i feel lucky I got a whole min. said his head was shaved first, and wouldn't get any sleep until tonight but he sounded good and said he was really fine. so proud of these boys. I have many people wanting me to thank them for their service and for being apart of protecting our freedom. Wearing my Navy stuff proudly. And of course waiting for the letter and hearing his voice again.

Tracy i thought I was the only one who has my cell phone attached for my body, I panic if I lay it down and realize i don't have it close by, I don't seem to cry all day but there are always times when I think of something or I hear a song that brings tears for sure. Wish i had a PIR date so I could start my coumt down. It is hard to believe that Wed. will be a week already. Hope your recovery gets better. Hang in there....Michelle

Got my box of clothes this morning, have to say when I heard the Fed ex truck out front I felt sick, had to hold the box and cry for a while before opening it up. No letter or note check all the pockets. Think I might hold off washing his things for a little, Now I wait for my letter. Good luck to you mom's who are waiting for your box.

Thought maybe you were able to talk to him that would of been nice. sounds like they are thorough. I wonder if my son has any allergies that we didn't know about. I'm sure they will keep him, if they let everyone go who had a allergy of somekind we wouldn't have much of a military.

Where have all you ladies gone? it has been quiet on here lately, I guess most of us are still waiting for the letter!! My dad is a retired Army and he said it's all about hurry up and wait with the military. Patience is a virtue. Keep your heads high, one week and one day down for me.
