Mine too!  He is 18.  Graduated high school this past May.  Has talked about joining the Navy since he was about 7 years old.  We took him to several of my grandfather's Navy reunions throughout the years and now look where we are!  We gave him ample "outs" for college...thot the girlfriend would change his minde, etc...nope.  Navy.  Navy.  Navy.
I'm actually the girlfriend! thought I could change his mind too, but it's something he really has always wanted to do.We just graduated in may too, both 18. I've been having a VERY hard time with all this :( How have you been?

As a mom - I am better since I got his letter.  Last week was the longest week of our lives.  I spend my quiet time in his bedroom. Praying.  Crying.  Praying.  I am much better now.  No tears since Saturday!   As odd as it sounds I hold his dirty blue cardinals tee close to me.  Almost like I am hugging him...without him there.  Weird?  I don't guess it really matters, does it?!  lol

We recieved his box this past Friday - and on the outside, on the "name line" he wrote "Dad and Mom".  His sense of humor never stops!  And then on his form letter his guests were:  Dad, Mom, Nana, Papa

I hate to hear you are having a very hard time.  Keep yourself busy!  Are you in college or trade school? Or do you work? All that should help pass the time.  I am sure you are writing him...everyday, huh?  Do you have a pretty good relationship with his family?  Go spend time with them.  We are super close to my son's girlfriend and she comes over a lot (when she is not in school - cheering or at basketball practice).  The two of you may just need to chat.  She doesn't get on this site but has her phone all the time - twitter and facebook. Private message me and I will give you her name.  She is flying with us to graduation on 12/29.  Oh, on my son's form letter he wrote us a short note and the P.S. was "Tell Brooke I love her!"  It was so sweet.

Hang in there "Ilovemysailor09/021".  -  Kim

Are you in any groups on FB?

I am taking 18 hours of classes at college and I am in a musical that requires rehearsal 4 days a week, so I am very busy! I got his address yesterday and sent 8 letters! :) I right him so much! Probably more than he needs to here! haha I have a pretty good relationship with his family. She let me come over and see his letter yesterday, he said he "sends his love to me". So proper! :) Sounds just like something he would say! I am flying to see him graduate also! Maybe we will see each other! :)

I will message you now! :)

i also noticed we both have Corpsman. Wonder if they grouped them?
It is sure looking that way!

I was so excited when my daughters form came in the mail yesterday. My heart was racing and my hands were shaking. My mom was over when the mail came, so she read the note on the back of the form for me because I was crying and could not read through my tears... My husband & I plan on flying out the day after Christmas to make a small trip for graduation since my husband has 2 boys that live in Indiana

ArNavy-I go into my daughters bedroom and just lay on her bed to just be able to smell her. I miss her so much & pray for her ecery day to stay strong because I know that she can.

I am still waiting for the box to arrive and can't wait to get that first call to hear her voice or the first letter. I just want to hear how she is doing

I smell my boyfriends jacket everyday, just to smell his familiar scent! What is your daughter's MOS or job?
Her job will be a EM
You guys are great!
I got my daughters box and I am a bit confused as to why they would have her send home all of her stamps and stationary can anyone explaine that to me. How is she going to send letters if she does not have stamps or write home without stationary. I know they do not allow bulky stationary & it was not
I wouldn't worry about it! They let them go to the NEX and buy all of that. If it truly is not bulky try to send it to her in normal sized envelopes. I've seen lots of parents who send pre-stamped envelopes and stationary to their SR. They can buy stamps and paper/envelopes there :) Congrats on getting your box!! :)
