used delta.  didn't do too bad.  about $400 per ticket.  everything is expensive going to or from northwest arkansas.  but $400 was good - I thought.  i travel about 12x p/year for work so that number is in line with my work travel.  we are staying at the marriott residence inn.  since our son's girlfriend will be with us we got a two-room suite so she can have her privacy as well as us.  then my parents got a room there too.  i've not seen where anyone else has posted where they are staying but hoping there are some at our hotel.  love to chat-n-sip hot coco in the windy city with other loved ones!
We are booking our flight this weekend.I just need to let my SR know my husband can't come so my dad will coming instead need her to change name on guest list
I meant to list dates - we are arriving the morning of 12/28 and leaving saturday morning 12/31. Hoping our recruit gets to spend all day friday with us. Hoping he will work out the logistics of getting home then to san Antonio.
Thank you! I will check out the Marriot :)Maybe we can get our divison to stay there! :)
That would be nice - to have lots of the division staying at the Marriott (Residence Inn).  It is a little pricier than some others but you get free breakfast and the rooms are "roomier".  We like that especially if you have more than 2 people in the room.
I hope my daughters RDC is nice and allows them to write letters today. I am so ready to hear from her and know how she is doing. She is a strong girl and I am sure she is doing ok. I know the first few weeks and be hard on the strong ones as well. I just miss and ready to get that letter
Same here Natalie's Mom. I am praying that at this very moment our recruits are reading and writing letters!
Booked my flight today arrivinf on 12/28 and comning back home on 12/30. I have to say it sure is not cheap that is for darn sure for a refundable ticket 904.00 from California to Chicago. I decided not to get the refundabable tickets it was making me sick to my stomach, so if by chance anything changes I will have a fee for changing flights, but the fee is not too bad. Also will need to book a ticket home for my dauhgter if they allow them leave and once I find out where she will be attending A-School..
Yay hotel is booked. Staying at Springhill Marriott in Waukegan prices are good I think. I wish I could stay at the Residence Inn I liked ArNavymom Idea, but I am not able to do it, but still close. It would be great if we all could meet up before PIR
@ Natalie'smom - ouch!  That plane ticket is painfully crazy.  Hey, did Natalie sign for Hospital Corpseman? If so, A school is in San Antonio.  About hotel, Springhill is perfect!  Maybe we can meet up for a meet-and-greet one another.
@ ArNavymom, No Natalie did not sign as a hospital corpseman. She signed as a EM something to do with engeineering on the ship... She was thinking about Hospital Corpseman, but decided to take a different direction.
I can't spell I am getting sleepy. The correct spelling "engineering" LOL
