i KNOW what u mean.. i see the countdown on my phone now says 6 days.. r u on facebook??
this was a very amazing and emotional thing to go to. he swore in, we got our pics, and then we all waited in the family lounge. it gave him and his brothers a chance to play cards and just laugh and forget for a minute that he was leaving. then they called his name to give him the briefing of his travel itinerary. then they lined us all up as they played "Proud to be an American" over the loud speaker and he walked through as everyone clapped. (i am crying as i am typing this) cuz it was emotional. proud and sad - i can't wait to talk to him!
oh wow.. i would have cried my eyes out and im crying as i read this... I got "the box" earlier today... cried all over again..opened it hugged his clothes... but OH SOOOOO PROUD... uh oh MORE crying.... wheres the kleenex
i haven't recieved the box...when did your son arrive at Great Lakes? i am nervous about getting it...I (like you) will probably hug and not let go of his clothes. ya know as i am crying about all of this - if he knew that i was going to hug his clothes i can just hear him saying "oh my gosh mom dont be ridiculous" - oh well i can if i want - right?
I haven"t received the box yet. But I know I will cry.
Well, my baby girl is off...We brought her to the door of adulthood, and she walked through it this morning as she left for MEPS in New Orleans. She has taken a huge jump into her new life and I could not be anymore proud of her than I am right now! But, I all ready miss her....Good luck to all those that ship off today and tomorrow..
