Hey ladies. My husband left for RTC on Nov 2nd. I got his box today but no letter yet. I did get a call on Sunday, though. Just looking to connect with other ladies with a husband or boyfriend in RTC. It sucks and its hard. I know I miss mine like crazy but I figure that people in the same situation can help more than anything:))

My husband left on 10/4/2011 and he PIRs on 12/02/2011. We just got over the hump! Some days seem to fly by and others seem to drag. Overall, I feel like it's a good preparation for deployments. Watch out for a call from your SR on week 3 (3rd week after processing). I didn't know they were going to get a call, and I missed it! I would recommend following the divisions that precede your husbands so you see when they get calls - so you know yours is coming next :)

Oh, yay! thats coming up so soon!

It is a good preparation, its shocking how much I miss him already. We've been together for five years and this is already the longest we've gone without at least talking. He is also going to be away for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years which will be our first wedding anniversary.

He was able to make a call on Sunday, which was so unexpected and surprising. I was so glad to hear from him..As soon as I get the letter and find out his PIR date and DIV I will definetly follow them to see when I should expect call. Thanks!

what's his rate if you don't mind me asking :)
He will be a SeaBee, his rate is UT. Whats you SR's? :)
Just keep your phone with you always... they don't always follow the same schedule as the division before them with phone calls it depends on each division's RDCs. They can get phone calls taken away so if they are supposed to get a phone call the 3rd week (which is actually the 4th) and they are getting punished they will get them taken away. But if they do really well they can earn "unscheduled" calls too. It's tough but you'll get through it, it may not seem like it now I remember my first few weeks and I thought it would never end! But when you finally get his form letter (should be any day since you got the box!) with his division number find that group on here!
Oh, I do:) My phone is practically an extension of my hand these days! I think the call they had on Sunday must have been "unscheduled" because they'd only been there for four days, I didnt expect a call for a few weeks at least. I am so glad I got it, he let me know that his letter was on its way. I wish I'd remembered to ask his DIV number so I might get an idea of when he will graduate, lol:) I am so impatient:))
I'm so impatient that I called his recruiter about a week after he got there to get his division number, she knew me so well she asked what took so long! lol. Seriously this website is a lifesaver through bootcamp, and even through school! Do you know how long his UT training will be? Will you be moving there with him? There is probably a group on here for that rate as well, and for the school so they can help give you an idea of what to expect after boot camp! PIR will be so worth the waiting, when you get to see him in his uniform!!

Ha! We actually went to school with our recruiter and I may call him tomorrow if I dont get that letter! I'm sure he is expecting it! We were both going to enlist but life happened and I ended up being happy with becoming a sailors wife:) His UT training will be 13 weeks. I wasnt planning on moving but after being apart less than a week, I am definetly going to move down there!

It's so much harder to be away than you think it will be! My fiance graduated boot camp Sept. 9 and has been in GL for school since then. I'm going to see him this weekend and I can't wait! After this, he will be in San Diego for a year and a half for more school, so I'll be moving out there with him (it was always the plan even before he left!). There is NO WAY I could be apart from him for that long!
