The day is here...excited and an emotional wreck.  Hope to meet you there.

So glad I got to meet you face to face!  And so glad our sons became friends.  I hope they graduate the same day!!!  My son has been texting me the whole way up to Great Lakes.  They are about 1 hour from the base now.  He is sooooo excited.  Hope your drive home went well.  As soon as I figure out how to download the video of the swearing in, I'll let you know how to access it. Until next time...

I downloaded the video of them swearing in on YouTube.

Let me know if you can view it...IVY Swearing In 11/15/11

We got the call around 830pm.  Short and sweet!!!  Sure hope you can view the swearing in video.  Our sons were standing right beside each other.  Waiting to find out what ship and division he is in.  Hoping our sons will be together!!!  Then we can see each other again for graduation!

DJ leaves on the 15th from Spokane WA as an E3.  How are you doing with it?

Oh I didn't mention my boy will be a Crypto-Interpretative- stationed at DLI for a year or so until he learns the language...we have a shipping out party for him on Sat!! Anyone in the Bay Area is invited- message me privately for the details!

Cheers,

Leslie

OMG!  The last 9 months have been dragging by, hoping and praying my son doesn't get hurt or into trouble before he ships.  Now the last few weeks have flown by and the last 5 days are here.

I am an emotional mess!  I just asked for tomorrow thru Monday off work so I can really pay attention to what needs to happen.  I sent 300 pics to Costco last night that will be ready today.  Looking thru all of the pictures of my little boy has me crying constantly. He has requested a chocolate mousse pie so I am going to focus on that on Friday and the party on Saturday.

He wants us to say goodbye at the recruiters on Monday so I won't be going to MEPS to see him swear in.  He said the room is super small and all the crying should happen in the parking lot, not at MEPS.  Lord help me!

My son said the same thing - he wants me to take him to the recruiters office and say good-bye there.

And the same as you - I have been worried for the past several months that something would happen

to delay him leaving. Now it is here and my only child is leaving home - I'm doin OK - his Dad has already

shed tears!!

I thought I was doing OK until every person walked into our house, already crying...  then I was done. I took Sam out for coffee last night and we had 30 minutes before his last night out with friends.  Some woman heard us talking about the Navy and came over to show us pics of her 3 boys, all in uniform.  I know she was a proud mom and I completely understand but as soon as she stopped talking, Sam stood up and said his friends were there... I had enough time to hug him and give him the Sailor's Bible.  Then I just sat there in the coffee shop, crying.

Located in ohio my son also leave for bc on 11/15

Well - he left this morning - I took him to the recruiters office - I did good!! I cried, but didn't make a fool of myself.

He will fly out from Jacksonville FL tomorrow.  I keep picturing in my mind: bringing him home from the hospital, 1st day of school, high school graduation, playing sports  - Moms are you doing this too??

Hi everyone,  My son left today for The Great Lakes BC too.   His name is Jacob . How is everyone doing? Me well just want to get that first call.
