We recieved our first letter today! My son is thankful for all kinds of things! It made me cry...tears of joy. I am so proud of the man he is becoming. He stated he was thankful for us (his dad and I) for making him go to school as a lot are there that didn't finish high school. Thankful for the stable family we provided as many did not have that growing up. He wrote he found it extremely hard to describe how much he misses home and how homesick he really is. 8-( Military in a nutshell is HURRY UP and WAIT / HUSTLE and STAND BY. lol He is a pro at folding clothes now and his bunk is one of the tightest! That coming from a kid how hates folding clothes and has only made his bed once a month...if that. He loves getting mail and eating the food. Hits up the cereal machine all the time.
Today was a GREAT day for me! Praying all you get letters soon too. I am so looking for a phone call now!
ArNavyMom- I am so happy for you that you got a letter today. Just reading what you post brings tears to my eyes, but tears of happiness for you and to know your boy is doing good.
That was not our case. Son lived ate and breathed bullriding since the begining of life for him. Then one day in January he came home and said I m joining the Navy and by 2/1 he was enlisted. Shocked to say the least but very supportive. My heart broke after he signed and came home and said he could not ride bulls this summer. We hauled him all over for bull riding since he was little and all of the sudden it came to an abrupt stop. It proved to be more than he could handle and he had to get on one bull this summer. To watch him put his life long desire aside to serve has just made me so proud. Especially when you know at 19 he is the prime age for the bull riding. That is our story.........oh and he is struggling he is country/hillbilly/redneck through and through and this is throwing him for a loop. I chuckle because i am sure they do not know what to think of him.
That is precious Mulegal! Though my son was a die hard athlete (baseball and football) he did throw on his wranglers and boots for some team-pinning. He loved that almost as much as a 1st baseman's mit! I pray my son is an encourager to his division. I pray that he helps those that need it and humble enough to accept others help when needed. Praying for each one of the recruits 021 and their families.
The one time I want the darn mailman to show early he does not.....Ugh the anticipation is killing to know if I got a letter
