My son is in this division also. I got my letter and the box today, got my room booked for the graduation...I am one happy momma
Aw! Its husband in this division:)) Im so glad that they'll be together! I got two letters today, got my box a few days ago.. ahh! i should book a room too. good idea:)
also, where did you book a room? do they offer a shuttle to the base or from the airport?
I booked a suite at the Mariott Residence Inn. We are driving, it's only a 12 hour drive for us - weather permitting.
My son is in this division also...Yay!!! I did receive the box a few days ago and letters yesterday. We got our first phone call last Sunday and then another one today. The one for today was due to the Navy messing up our son's direct deposit and so he will not be getting paid in a few days. Unfortunately I was at work and my son talked to my husband who did not have his account info with him, so we will have to mail the info to him or hope he can call back before he gets the letter. Anyway, congrats on getting your boxes and letters too and I am very excited for the graduation.
@jlmjtat...what airline are you flying in on and what airport? We were looking at Milwaukee but I am nervous it is much further distance...so I think we will do O'hare and fly either Southwest or US Airways. I will book everything either tomorrow or Saturday. I am so excited!
ah! i want a call so bad! even if it was just for paperwork:)
I booked my flights today. I used Alaska Airlines and I'm flying into O'Hare. Where are you guys going to stay?
We are planning to drive - weather permitting. Staying at the Mariott Residence Inn. Be careful when booking your rooms - find a place that allows you to cancel at no charge. I noticed a lot of places wouldn't allow you to cancel.
Chelsealoo....I felt kind of bad because I jokingly told my husband that every Navy mess up will grant us a phone call so I hope they mess up more...but then that would mean more frustration for our son so I guess I can't wish that. I'm not sure what is the right way to think on this one...lol! I'm kidding, I really want everything to go smoothly for him!:)
It is true, no news is good news in this instance....I really think it is a bad joke because we want to hear from them but then if we do we worry something is wrong. Ahhh, the emotions that we all have in this..lol! Although I know they are all on track and doing fantastic:)
I'm trying to figure out where to stay...my mom just found out today she has to have surgery on her knee and I am not sure if she will be able to make it. She says she will go no matter what but I am worried about her. I was going to book two rooms but need to make sure we can stay somewhere that will allow me to cancel the second room if I need to.
