I have a son on Ship 12 Div 030.. Hope to connect with others that have loved ones on the same ship/Division..

My son is with this ship/division. I'm anxiously awaiting his first letter. Hopefully it will come this week. It's been 15 days since he's left and I really would love to hear from him.
My fiance is on that ship too!!! Was really hoping for the 12/29 graduation date though :(
I havent heard anything either. It seems like theres 4 of us total (so far) that know about this site and have loved ones on the same ship.. I really hope we can pass any info to each other as to what are they doing (besides the obvious lol)... How is the division holding up.. If either of us ladies talk to our SR lets relate messages so we know what is going on w/ our Loved ones..
I am still a mess and its the longest time that i havent heard my sons voice..
My youngest daughter is in this ship / division; this is my second daughter to go throught RTC Great Lakes.
She left here 11/2, we got her box and form letter on Tuesday last week and brief phone calls Thursday asking for information, not much on chat time. Waiting for the next contact to be made as patiently as a mother can.
Have booked our hotel and looking at rental cars.
Hope I can be of some help, although it has been two years to the month that our oldest daughter shipped to RTC Great Lakes and I am rusty on the site.
I have a son in this Division. His twin brother graduated boot camp August 26th. He is in school at Great Lakes. He received 2 letters yesterday from his brother, so the Division was allowed to write letters this past Sunday. Should be receiving letter any day. Takes about 5 days to receive. He said that their graduation is in January because it took so long to fill their Division. My other son was able to call me 3 times prior to graduation. That does not include the call when they first get there. No specific days but the time was usually morning. Never gets easy not having contact with them.
Teresa thank you SO much for this information!!! I cannot wait to get my recruit's first letter! Hope to see you at graduation!
I Guess we will be recieving letters soon! WhooHoo! Having No contact is really hard. This is my oldest & ONLY son! His sisters will be so happy and i'm sure they will be coming home from school saying " is it here yet?" lol..
My son is Ship 12 Div 030. I am looking for advise on booking airline tickets. When do we do that. Air fare has doubles from last week to this week. When is it safe to book? Also, I thought they got to come home with us but I'm not reading that anywhere. Do we book them a flight back with us? How long after graduation before they can leave. I have SO many questions - is anyone else feeling the same thing?
Hi.. unfortunately after graduation they dont get to come home w/ us if they have A school right after wards. 2 get more information plz go to the RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND facebook page. They have all sorts of great information. Even pictures and videos of what to expect.
I GOT MY FIRST LETTERS FROM MY SR TODAY!
Sooo happy, everything is going great, he is going to be a flag holder at PIR (whatever that means lol), and he misses me like crazy! Feeling so relieved now!!! Hope everybody gets their first letters soon!
Congrats Megan! i got no letter but his friend did and she let me know details. she said my son is doing fine, they start firefighting part soon, that 2 things he dislikes is the 20 degree weather the other day and the yelling. He'll be going to A school right after graduation so no weekend w/ him.... So ur fiance will be holding the flag.. hmmm.. ur so lucky that means he'll be right up front!! Congrats!
I got my 1st letter today as well!
My son is also supposed to be a flag holder at PIR - he says IF their group earns them. He sounded very up beat but nothing negative. He wrote it on the 11th and judging from the things he said, he has not gotten any of our letters as of that time. We have written every day since we got his address on the 7th. I am surprised at the relief that I feel. I couldn't wait to get on here and post!
