For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My son left for BC on 11/08/2011
I am looking to connect with other Moms who son's or daughter's may be in the same division as my son Sean. I miss him sooo much right now. I know the first week was all processing and that Boot camp actually starts on Monday for him. He looked so sad as he left on the bus. I know he will be okay, he is a really strong kid. I am just a typical worrying Mom.

My son left on the 9th and I am also worrying. I have no idea what to expect or when?? I am missing him so much, I have never gone a full 24 hours without at least talking to him until now. I hope it is harder for me than for him. I hope he has so many distractions that time will fly for him. It is dragging like crazy for me. Is this your first Navy experience too?

I replied to your discussion as well. This is absolutely my first Navy experience. This week is like the longest week of my left. Possibly longer than when he was overdue to be born. I think that boot camp will keep them so busy that the time will go fast for them. It is us Mom 's that suffer the wait. My son looked sad and scared when he got on the bus to go to the airport. the last picture I have of him is that fear. It kills me. It must be hard on them but I think kids are much more resilient. They are probably making friends and trying to figure out how things work at BC. Hang in there please. Where are you from? We are from NY.

We are from UT. I agree 100% that kids are more relilient that we are. I am so sorry that you have such a painful memory of fear and sadness. :( My prayers and thoughts will be with you. I feel the same way about the length of this week. It seems like time is standing still and that minutes take hours to pass. I miss him so much. I keep looking at his pictures and that has helped a little but it also makes me sad. As I indicated in my reply on the other post, I would love to keep in touch with you. We can share our feelings and frustrations. I am so grateful for this site. And for your quick concern. Keep smiling and we will chat very soon.

I got my son's address yesterday and sent the letters off and today i got the box. SUCKS! why do they have to do this to us? my tears are just flowin' It didn't have any information in it - just his dirty socks and everything but his wallet. I hope (like all you) that he is busy and happy - the complete opposite of me. My son is in Ship 11 Div 040.

Hello, my son also left November 8th and it has been very difficult for me. This morning has brought alot of tears. I am glad I am not alone. We received "the box" but we don't have an address yet hopefully we will get that today. He is a smart strong willed boy and I am sure he will do just fine but I don't think mom is as strong willed as she thought.

I would definately call his recruiter...they can get it for you off some internal website!

I know the feeling...we all do. It really stinks, but we will get through it and we just have to keep in mind that we will see them in 8 weeks. I am looking forward to the actual graduation date from him so i can start the count down til we see him!

I have all kinds of countdowns going, I have 3 different possiblilites, his recruiter gave us 2 possible PIR dates and 1 just going 9 weeks out. so I just keep one for each :)

What are the possible PIR dates that his recruiter gave you? Cuz my son also left on the 9th...maybe they'll be the same!
