Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 09 DIV 022
I received the “form letter” from my daughter yesterday. She shipped on October 26th. It said she was in “SHIP 06 DIV 022” with a graduation date of December 29th. We too were hoping for the December 16th graduation date, but know she is safe and will be fine. For me missing her birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas will be hard. The box came today with all of her things. I think that was harder than the letter. Anyone else out there with the same division?

Hey guys... my son is in Ship 09 Div 022 as well! I'm hoping to hear something from him soon as I haven't gotten a letter or phone call yet. Maybe this will be the week I receive something! He is 25... so I'm guessing he's one of the older ones. Glad to be a part of this group!

Welcome dawnb-I was very lucky that we recieved a letter last Thursday, however, I know that some of the families did not. One mom that I talked to said that some of the kids might choose to study that first Sunday. My daughter just turned 19, while at bootcamp.

Hi RuthL, My son is SHIP09 DIV022 as well, When we received "THE BOX" my husband hid itfrom me until I got the letter, I did nothing but cry the first week, so nice to know that Im not the only one. I really thought that I was going crazy lol My son calls some peoplein his division "special people" now I know why; IT must really be hard! I havent gotten a phone call yet and my cell phone is always right beside me- just waiting, does anyone else do that to? I just miss him so much! Way to many emotions rolled all into one! I would love to hear from you and everyone else!

Hi Kubasmom... My son is in 09/022 and I cried the first week as well! I was a mess! I haven't heard anything yet besides the form letter and box. I'm anxious to hear how our kids are doing and who they've bonded with. How old is your son? I hope that our sons are all becoming good friends! I still have all the stuff in the box just the way he sent it! Hugs!!

Hi Dawnb! So good to hear that someon else besides me is a wreck! My son is 18 he is my middle son and I know that as a parent your not supposed to have a favorite but he is the one Im closest to. Its so hard not knowing much of anything. I was able to write to him after a few days, his recuriter had called and gave us his address. When he wrote to me he told me that I had to open "THE BOX" because his clothes needed washed LOL How old is your son and how did he chose the Navy? I know that the guys they make friends with in boot camp they never forget. My husband is a military man and the lessons they learn stay with them forever. Im so proud of him! I know you must be proud to! (Im still a mess though) "hugs back to you"

Kubasmom- Welcome to the group. My daughter turned 19 during her first week there. She is the baby and boy was that a hard day. It is never easy leaving them go, but we have to hold our faith that we have raised them well. I spent the first week in tears. They still come, but not as often. Having a group like this has help so much. It is very therapeutic to talk to other mothers who are going through the same thing and moms who have been there and done that.
I was so confused when I got the box and her pants were rolled up until I ready “The first 6 weeks of boot camp”. The resources on this site are a big help.
And yes, me too on the cell phone! It is with me at all times. Even when I get a shower I have it close enough that I can hear it.

Hi RuthL- Thank you so much for responding to me! Knowing that their are other mothers out there that are feeling what I am has been such a relief - Having your child join the military is way different than just haveing them move out to their own place or going off to school. I know that all of us have raised our children well, gave them the strength and courage to take on such a job. Kudos to them and to us. I watched boot camp videos on youtube (lol) and I have looked up everything that I can think of, just to get an idea of whats going on. I received another letter today and my son sounds so much better than the last one, I think that hes settling in. Im still trying to get used to him not being here- I dont think that Ill ever completely get used to it but Im better than I was last week and I know that next week will be better than this one. I cant wait to see him all dressed and graduate :) He has wanted to do this for a long time. It must have been so hard for you to not be able to say Happy Birthday, the holidays are gonna be so hard. I dont know about you but Im realy not looking forward to the holidays- I think Ill put off Christmas until he can come home on leave.. :)

I got a phone call today! :) 1000questions in 15 minutes LOL It was so great to hear my sons voice- he says he has passed all of his tests so far-he had a little help jumping off the tower though -he had some funny stories, apparently there is a ship mate that is fond of singing "its raining men" while the guys are showering LOL He says he has done some changing as well "muscling up" He wont be coming home on leave, he says that if he does it will put him negative in leave time but he can schedule leave for the few days that we will be there. I cant wait! :)
My daughter is a blonde as well and decided to dye her hair red-SHOCK -so glad its back now but I bet you will know your daughter in an instant-your her mom- youll know her from a mile away-
I hope you got a phone call today-it made me cry but just talking to him for that little bit eased the pain and then he was crying to and said that hes proud to be "mamas boy" and didnt mind crying-I had to laugh when he said that-175 lbs, twice my size and it doesnt matter!

Just a heads up on the ribbons you guys have been ordering to wear to PIR. All the ribbons that I have received payments for were shipped today. Please let me know what you think of them when they arrive. I know you will all wear them with pride when you see your Sailors.
