Just want to hear some stories. =)

We met in Middle School and quickly became good friends, and all through High School we stayed close. We had a mutual attraction and he made it clear that he had strong feelings for me, but things never worked out. Either I was with someone or he was. A few years after High School he decided to join. 3 Months before he was scheduled to leave for Bootcamp I left my at the time partner, and knew I had to see what these persistent feelings were before I lost the chance. And the rest you could say is history. We've been together 9 months but it feels like so much longer, I assume because we've been friends for so long :]
We're engaged now and despite the difficult future I know lies ahead I couldn't be more sure of anything in my life. This is the man I was meant to be with <3 [/gush]
Great topic by the way, I love reading all the stories!
Cute picture. I love reading these stories. I am such a romantic. They make me smile. =)
So cute! =D
We met in College. We were in the same sociology class and saw each other every Tuesday and Thursday. At first I thought he was lame, haha and annoying. He was very much interested in taking me out on a date and I always said no. Around Christmas break, he asked if I would meet him for coffee and I said yes. I drove to meet him and we were talking for hours and then all of a sudden he was dumping a bunch of sugar on the table and blew the sugar at me.....I was thinking "okay, he lost it. I'm done with this guy". But for some reason I thought it was hilarious and I blew sugar back at him. After that day, he and I were going on a bunch of dates and then he told me...."I'm leaving for boot camp in a couple weeks"....I was so upset and sad. I held it together and told him to write me and I'd do the same. Mind you, we weren't dating yet. So about a week before he left we were talking and watching movies and he told me that he was falling in love with me! I felt the same so I told him. from that day on, our relationship grew stronger on a level that most don't understand (except you ladies on this site :) )....A week went by and he left...our relationship was through letters of love, encouragement and hope. When he graduated from boot camp, he asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes. We were married 2 months after graduation, I moved down to his first duty station with him and moved again, had our first child and we've been together ever since! I love him so much and I wouldn't change a thing :)
I love this discussion! It is really neat to see all of the different stories :)
My future sailor and I met through work. We both worked at CVS in the pharmacy as technicians, but at different locations. For about 3 years we talked over the phone frequently to check stock and ask other medication related questions. In 2006, his younger brother started working at my store and we became friends (little did I know that his little bro had a crush on me... I thought he was gay! lol). One night after work I asked my husbands brother if he wanted to go to the mall with me to return something... and he showed up to pick me up with his older brother. The three of us went to the mall and then to a local hamburger joint to get some dinner. I had a bf at the time, but things weren't really going anywhere with the relationship... on New Year's Eve I got a text saying "Happy New Year... I want to take you to dinner". So I broke up with my boyfriend at the time and started seeing my future sailor. We officially became boyfriend and girlfriend on January 17, 2007. We got engaged on Easter Sunday that year and were married on June 6,2009! He is a wonderful, caring man and I can't imagine being with anyone else! I am so proud that he has chosen to join the U.S. Navy :)
I met mine in elementary school. In middle school he was the most popular guy ever!! Track star, football star, etc. I was one of the managers for track and Austin used to throw his sweats in my face before every race. He treated me like a stupid younger kid. After that we lost connection until i started going to his church every once in awhile. We had the occational flirting but it didn't turn into anything. When my friends and i went out to celebrate after the last day of our junior year in HS we went to Culvers to eat. I saw from a distance someone that looked exactly like my friends ex(my best friend that moved away) I ran into his arms to hug him. I looked next to him and it happened to be Austin. Of coarse i gave him the biggest hug. I kept in touch with evan and we were still in shock about seeing each other. The next day when i was at my cousins wedding i got a call from an unknown number. It happened to be Austin. He asked me out on a date the next night. I couldnt stop smiling. We have been together since. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love him with everything i have. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with him. =)
I love this idea!
I met my sailor on top of a local mountain (Mount Diablo) on Pearl Harbor Day (December 7th). Two years ago.
I called up my friend Kiley because there was SNOW on top of the mountain after a rain. I had never seen snow in my life, and told Kiley I was going to pick her up after class and we were gonna go hike. I felt spontaneous for some reason. It's about a 6 hour hike to the top of the mountain. Not something I was usually up for. PLUS, every year the mountain is closed down on Pearl Harbor day. There is a giant tower at the top of the mountain, and the only day of the year the big revolving light turns on, is on Pearl Harbor day. I wanted to see it up close. The roads going up it are empty and I decided we should just walk along the roads to the top. So, we did!
About an hour into our hike, we realized that NO ONE was on the mountain. We hadn't seen anyone at all. The parking lot only had two cars in it. Kiley's Denali, and an old volkswagen bug. Halfway up we saw three people walking down the mountain. I stopped them and said "Hey, do you guys know how much further it is until snow?" Cameron's friend responded and said "at least 4 hours." I said thanks. Noticed one guy was cute. Had an "oh well" moment. They kept walking their way down. We kept walking our way up. They got about a hundred yards away when Cameron called out "do you mind if we join you?" Kiley and I laughed and she replied "NO!" immediatley, and explained they were total strangers and could be serial killers. Just to make her mad I called back "We're kidding! Yeah, sure!" So.....
Long story short, Cameron and I talked about just about everything there is to talk about in life for the next 6 hours until we reached snow. It was my first time seeing snow. On the way back down, he told me he was thinking about joining the Navy. In my head I was like... "well...so much for that one!"
His friend Max hurt his ankle, and a park ranger had to pick us all up in a pickup truck and drive us down the mountain. We sat in the bed of the truck and talked some more. When we got back to the parking lot, he asked for my number. I gave it to him. He grabbed my hand and kissed it....and we went on our way. Kiley and I giggled about it in the car, and talked about how we both liked his green eyes.
Flash forward a few months and we started dating. Eventually were in a relationship after a few months of being close friends. He lived on the opposite side of the mountain. In a town I never visited. We both worked even further away. We would have never run into each other had it not been for that one day.
Flash forward two years. We're married. Cameron has brown eyes. He says his eyes have never changed color his entire life. I've always thought that was funny.
About a year ago, I applied for a job where my friend, Myriah works. One day I went into the store to check my app's status, and when I left, I got a text from Myriah telling me that some guy she worked with said that I was "GORGEOUS". Apparently he wouldn't leave her alone until he saw her send the text. I just smiled and shrugged it off. I never took it seriously (I had never even seen him before!) I checked on my app often, and I never saw Kyle, but I got a text every time that I left from Myriah telling me that Kyle really thought that I was pretty. Still, I just shrugged it off. Months later, I was shopping, and I saw Myriah eating lunch with some guy that I had never seen before, but he was wearing a work shirt and he was so handsome! So, the next day, Myriah and I are texting and she tells me that she has a huge crush on a guy at her work. I asked, "Is it that REALLY cute guy that you were eating with yesterday?" She said, "No, that's Kyle!" So, she gave us each other's numbers, we met (officially) and we clicked instantly. Until November 1st, had been insuperable every day since the day we met. He even gave up his 21st birthday plans to go fishing with me as a second date! I swear, it was love at first sight. For both of us. :)
so, this just happened like a few weeks ago?? or it was 1st of November at another year :D
