For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Any MOM with SAILORS that left on 11-14-11 for BC
My son left for boot camp on 11-14-11 and it was much sadder than I thought....I self diagnosed myself with "Maternal Separation Anxiety" LOL. I received the "I'm here" call and that helped a little but these feelings were unexpected and I am still trying to adjust to my only son being away. Are there any mom's with sailors who left on 11-14-11?

My daughter left Nov 15th as well . She said she meet a bunch of nice kids at the airport they all had chicago dogs for dinner. I got my call around 10:00 as well that goodness I read about the phone call before hand so I expected it to be short but wow that was really short. The holidays are going to be hard plus I had no idea what to buy her for Christmas because I don't know if she can even have what I give her so sad ;0(

Where did your daughter fly in from? My son flew up from Richmond, VA.....He did say that they met other recruits there! He was his group leader, of about 9 SRs. I know how you feel, he is my baby and we are really close, especially the past 3 years when my husband was deployed to Iraq, we became very protective of each other. I came home last night from my night classes and walked into the house and it was sooo quite, I actually went up to his room and layed on his bed and cried. I know it will get easier, it has to as I am more proud of him than sad that he is gone! We can get through this together! Do you have RTC as a friend on Facebook?

She flew in from Arizona I think we got our phone calls at the same time. I have to sit in her room everyday and think about her at bootcamp. I feel the same way you do very proud but miss her like crazy. She is quite the character so I'm hoping she made some friends . I don't have RTC as a friend on facebook. I'm new at this site so I'm learning as I go.

You can go to the Navy RTC site and download the family guide...Very helpful and has a Navy lingo section. http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/fam_guide.asp
