Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Pet Policy!

hey everyone, im moving to charleston soon to be with my husband, and we, for the most part, have gotten the move from georgia to charleston figured out. however, i've been hearing many mixed things about the pet policy on base. I've heard that you have to have the dog's shot record, is that true? Also i've heard that you can't have pit bulls or boxers in base housing. Could someone be so kind as to clear this up for me? sorry if this has already been posted, but I cant seem to find clear answers anywhere. Thanks!

Did you get an answer?  my son and DIL are bringing their cats.  Would be really hard if they get there and find out they can't have them.

no, I never did. We ended up deciding to move to a townhouse that is off base. I do know that you are only allowed two pets, though.

Hi there,

 

I read your post and thought I would give some information regarding the pet policy for on base living... My husband and I are currently living on base and what we had to do for our Golden Retriever was to give them his shot records so he could be on file. This is important and they will ask for this the day you sign the papers and get the keys to your home. Also, they do not allow dogs like pit bulls or chows due to their behaviorisms and what not.

Son and DIL have just moved in and they have two cats.  I assume they had to show records too, but I know they had them..
