Phone call update.  I just found out the reason why I didn't get a phone call on Thurday.  My son called his friend instead!!!!  He is in so much trouble with me.  Don't get me wrong ladies.  Me and my son have a wonderful relationship and he knows there is nothing he can do to keep me mad at him.  He knows he can just say "I'm sorry" and I'll melt and quickly forgive him.  Of course, I will have to give him a little crap over it though.  I'm really finding the humor in this.  Glad he wasn't in trouble!  The friend he called just happens to be his former girlfriend.  They have stayed really close friends since their break-up but now I'm beginning to wonder if there's more to their relationship than they're letting me know.  I'm sure I'll be the last to know!  LOVE MY SON!

I just let out a gasp! Yea i would be mad! typical guy for you they don't think what it would make you feel like! he owes you big time. Heard that they are calling again today if that helps. my next letter would be about putting on the guilt!!! Gotta love them, your intuition about their relationship is probably right. hope he gave the friend information to pass on to you,

Hey Crystal still hanging on? no more labor I hope.....Michelle

Still here.  No more labor. Holding this baby in!!!  LOL!! Joshmom, I'm sorry to hear that he didn't call you.  Sams call to me almost made it better, but worse at the same time. I cried that evening cause it seemed so short and like he was so far away and I wanted more. I also think the same thing about his leave. He doesn't want to take it cause he knows saying goodbye again would be hard on all of us. So he's thinking about going straight through.  Ugh.  I'm thinking of driving out to his A-School (Weather permitting) with a newborn and a two year old (Someone talk me out of it!!) LOL.  Even if it's a short while that I can see him.

glas to hear you are doing good. the mom in me would tell you not to do it, but the wife in me would probably take this adventure, just take someone with you for help, maybe he can take only a few days he is entitles to 5 I bet once the baby is born he wil change his mind.

Just got the call today. He's not taking leave.  FML.  Ugh.  Guess I won't see him till late March even April :(

I never got my call my husband is really disappointed he wanted to talk to him, I wonder why they all didn't call? Crystal hang in there, maybe he couldn't bare the thought of having to go back after seeing you and the girls. Maybe in a few months the baby will be a little older and you could visit him in the GL. If it makes you feel any better I'm sad to was so looking forward to another call. oh well out of my control AGAIN!!!!

I know I would want to take that drive north also.  But you would need someone to go with you, and you'd have to be sure that the weather is really clear and not icy either.  Or maybe after the holidays you could find a good deal on airline tickets... January and early Feb are pretty dead in the way of air travel, look for deals!

I just signed up for Sarge's Meet and greet on 12/28 information is on events. Anyone want to join us?

Angeltoe, God is watching out for all of us.  I finally realized the significance of my son's phone call after I talked to "Jess" the friend he called.  She was quite shocked that he called her and they only talked for a few minutes.  Let me explain:  My oldest son is in heaven and for the past two years we have received several signs that he is watching over us all.  Calling a friend instead of me would have been quite typical of my oldest son but very uncharacteristic of my recruit.  I finally realized it was my oldest son who made that call to let me know he is at bootcamp watching over his brother.  He still has his brother's back just like always!  I've been crying tears of happiness non stop ever since.  Call me crazy if you want but I have a lot of faith and know the miracles faith and love can do.  God bless you and your son.

I wouldn't call you crazy! I absolutely believe it!

Hey I am adding this link that was on this website but just found it.. depends how much you want to know about what your loved one is doing... It is actually a day by day agenda.
