And husbands, sorry CrystalCVT..Hope all goes well with the baby!

So sorry about your daughters sickness, I know it is hard for you doing this alone, all that IT training is doing them in, Kyle said that they are always in trouble alot don't listen or shut up so they all pay. he does get 5 days that he has earned if he could come home then fly back he would be able to see the baby. He will get liberty while he is there any chance you could get to him with the baby for a weekend eventually. It sucks sometimes being a adult with all the responsibilities. Hang in there when is your delivery date? Keeping you in my prayers....Michelle

I should have said my "husband" is sick and not my baby. LOL.  He has a bad cold. He was able to call back after buying more minutes for his stupid phone card. *Rolling eyes*.  Michelle, I'm glad Kyle knows him. I hope they become good friends.  My husband has told me he doesn't want to do leave because it really messes it up for him for future dates.  That and he thinks it would be harder to say goodbye again. I'm not sure what to think. I'm pretty emotional, but I really feel that seeing him inbetween rather than not at all would help more.

I don't have a technical due date considering my diabetes will cause me to go early anyways. They won't let me deliver past 39 weeks.  So really, any time between 35 and 39 weeks...which is 2-6 weeks away. EEKS!! You guys can also check out my channel on youtube. I do vlogs on there to talk, vent and keep people updated.  http://www.youtube.com/crystalvlog

Glad everyone got their calls! I knew they were coming ;)  No letters for me today unfortunately...but hearing his voice was all I needed.  <3

Hi, I just joined this site.  My SR just called also, thanks Crystal for the heads up, I stayed in the house and off the phone all day.  He says they will get another call on Saturday to discuss the holiday leave. I'm so glad your hubby was able to join the navy, that medical insurance is out of sight!  Matt told me the division is doing pretty well.  He is in fine spirits, has passed his PT, and the whole division just aced an academic test for the first time! I asked if he is getting enough mail, and he says he loves getting it, but one guy got 5 letters in one day and had to do 150 push ups--30 per letter!  He acquired a knickname too!  So I won't pass his address out to our church members!  Matt is 25 years old, and has been away to college and out to sea three times.  So he's not homesick, I think it's quite an adventure for him.  It beats being 25 and living in an extremely rural setting with his retired parents (although we've had great times this past year) Anyway, he doesn't think he wants to fly home for New Years, use up his leave, worry about airline schedules and spend all that extra ticket money.  I'm really disappointed, as we have chosen not to fly to PIR, since it would end up costing   $1000!!! It sounds like our guys are in a good division, my son has no complaints, and says as soon as some of the 18 year old knuckleheads settle down they'll have less of the intensive PT they sometimes earn. Well, I hope to chat with you all again, but I'm on satellite internet, and have limited minutes.  After 11 pm I can chat all I want!  Sending best wishes and prayers to all your recruits! PS I'm also on the Facebook site, US Navy recruit, my name is Paula Tremain.

Yeah, my husband said there are some people that don't shut up and make it worse in there.  Little do they know they are doing it to themselves!! I hope to god my husband doesn't get more push-ups than necessary! I sent out a letter for every day since he's been there!! All in one big bulk though, along with my daughters artwork. Ouy.  What can you do!?

Paula welcome we here in ship09/div024 have really formed a friendship it nice when one of us gets a headup on things keeps us informed. you can order a dvd of the graduation I think it's $5. My 18 yr old son said the same about the division guys, he was in good shape going in but it really tired of so much IT. I will have to ask Kyle about the letters, I hope it wasn't him he didn't say anything, because I know between our large family and many friends they all are writing. Seems like none are taking their leave oh well we are staying until Sunday but he tells us he can't stay overnight with us not sure if he is taking his 5 days why not? look forward to talking again....Michelle

Crystal I hope it wasn't your husband who had to do the push ups, Kyle never said anything about that, poor kid he should of given some of the letters away for a while

Help - I need cheering up.  I didn't get my phone call last night and I've been bummin ever since.  My son has sent several letters and they all have been very positive.  He says he's enjoying BC and has become close friends with 8 other guys.  His only complaint has been about a few "knuckleheads" who have been getting them in trouble.  I've got this gut feeling his phone priviledge was taken away yesterday. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a phone call tomorrow.  On the brighter side, I'm really glad you all got to talk to your sons (and husband too).

hang in there, maybe he was on watch, kyle had to cut out a little sooner something about walking back for some training. He did mention about the knuckleheads who keep getting them in trouble, some never learn, I'm sure there was a good reason for no call. He did say that they would get another 5 min call on Sat. maybe that will be him to. Good luck let us know when you get the call...Michelle

If any of you ladies need to talk as well, i'm here for ya. <3  I got dog tags made today that have the quote on them "In the hope to meet shortly again and make our absence sweeter".  It also has SR Samuel D. on it. I'm wearing it to get me through.

Thanks Michelle, I will order the dvd.  I can't believe its only $5 when the recruits portraits start at $120...  My SR says he wants to go straight to A school.  I want him to come for a visit, but his dad says no, it's just fine, let him make his own decision....Oh well!  He's excited to start his new life in the Navy!
