For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Any MOM with SAILORS that left on 11-14-11 for BC
My son left for boot camp on 11-14-11 and it was much sadder than I thought....I self diagnosed myself with "Maternal Separation Anxiety" LOL. I received the "I'm here" call and that helped a little but these feelings were unexpected and I am still trying to adjust to my only son being away. Are there any mom's with sailors who left on 11-14-11?

No, he was told by his recruiter not to take it. I figured he would call with a pay phone. Kinda sad.

My son also left for boot camp on 11/14/11. This was his second try. He tried to leave on 11/10 but his flight was cancelled and with 11/11 Veterans day and the weekend he was told he had to fly out on 11/14. The second goodbye was a little easier than the first. Your right though, I thought I was ok and then you start thinking and the tears start flowing. I guess it's a big adjustment for all of us. What was the norm is no longer. I am very proud of him and I know this was the right decision. God Bless all of them.

My son left for BC last week also and I share your diagnosis. I have been a single parent since he was 3 years old and he is my only child so you can imagine that I miss him something terrible! Still.... I am really excited for him and very proud of him :-) Can hardly wait until I get the letter with his address in it so I can start sending him cards and letters. A wise man told me to be sure and tell him often how much he means to me because that reinforcement will help him tackle the challenges of training. Of course I pray for him many times everyday....

I have the cards and letters ready....just need that darn address...
I am get proud as well...I just need a grad date so I can have a date to look forward to.
Your only child...so just the two of you....I know the bond is explainable...Steven is my only son but I have 2 daughters...still we have great bond and I miss him like crazy..
Great advice on telling him how much he means to you...
We will get through this and celebrate in Jan! -

Received papers Yesterday....how excited was I....VERY.
His graduation is on 1-13-12.....and he stated he was up 30hrs and its tough but he is fine...
Whew....I feel so much better!...still miss him though!
Now that he has his 3 letters and 2 cards in the mail...I GOT AN ADDRESS....YEAH!!!
I GOTTA GET STARTED ON THE NEXT BATCH! -

Received mine also. It was so good to have something from him. Even if it was just a short note. He sounded good though. Can't wait for the 1-13-12 graduation. My son is in the ship 09 division 041 group. Is that the same group your son is in? I sent out my first letter today. We have to be strong for them. At least we have each other to keep in touch and have some connection to them through the moms.

My Daughter flew out on the 16th and I got the scripted "I'm here...etc" call. I miss her SO much and STILL don't have an address to send my letters! Anyone else have this issue?

Your in California...so am I...it took eleven days for me to receive the form letter. It can take up to two weeks. Hang I'm there mom!
