Thanks! I was hoping for one since my SR left Nov 1st, so Tuesday 24th was 3 weeks for us...but I'm keeping my fingers crossed and my phone on me at all times! Hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving!!
Thanks for the info about the possible phone date. I didn't know that. I, too, was hoping on the turkey-day phone call. My cell never gets more than 10 feet from me! Hope everyone had a great holiday. I'm back to work.
My SR left November 1 also but remember that week 1 was a processing week. They didn't actually start BC until November 8 and the website says the call comes after completing 3 weeks of BC - just to clarify. Just didn't want you to worry that you missed it...
I GOT 3 LETTERS TODAY!!! They were nice long letters (for an 18 year old boy... :) They were very upbeat and possitive and he seems to be doing well. There is an air of excitement in all of them and no whinning at all. No metion of a phone call.
They were written on November 14, 16 and 18th. In the November 14th letter it was clear that he still had received no mail. In the November 16 letter he said he got all of my letters in one day so he had just gotten mail for the 1st time.
Just thought you would be interested to know the timeline. Hope you are all getting letter as well and I can't wait for that phone call!
Jansu831: That's wonderful! I'm so happy for you. I'm still waiting, but you've given me more hope!
That's a shame. I still haven't gotten a second letter, but my son's girl has. I still have my phone attached to my hip, just in case.
The Naval Station Great Lakes facebook page has picutres from Adopt-A-Sailor from Thursday. Maybe you'll be lucky and have your SR in one of them. Mine wasn't in any of the pics.
Just want to let everyone know that I received a phone call from my son this afternoon. Everyone in his division should be calling home. It was great to hear his voice. He does sound a little sick, but nothing to worry to much about. Seems everything is fine and he will be calling again on Christmas day. =)
Just got off the phone with my SR!!!!!!!! OMG saying the I love you's and see you in January was the hardest. He's made Div Leader and has some kind of collar pin already! He's passing all his tests and is on target for battlestations. I think last week of December. I almost buckled towards the end but I was strong and kept my composure. He sounds really good. Ah, I can't help but me a Proud Navy Mom!
I got my phone call as well - about 2 minutes but a fabulous 2 minutes! I think my call was extra short because he called his girlfriend too. LOL
My son called his gf but I got letter today so I am happy! She messaged me right away and told me he says to tell me "HE LOVES ME VERY MUCH, MISSES ME VERY MUCH & THINKS ABOUT ME EVERYDAY"! I am a VERY PROUD NAVY MOM!!
