No, this was a separate letter. I had already received the "form" letter. I received three (small) envelopes: one with the insurance / GI bill, one with the Adopt a Sailor form and the other was the thee page letter. It's like you don't know what's worse not hearing from them or hearing what they have to say... I just hope the worst is over. If you want I can email you my number and you can call me anytime... but no it's not easy. I can't wait til this is over.

Happy Thanksgiving my friends. May God continue to bless each and every one of you!

Hello Ladies....got my first real letter today and he sounded GREAT!! He invited me to come for Christmas Day...pulling at my heart strings BIG TIME - being from NY and with my house being packed up each day...plus I have my daughter who will  be home and has her wisdom teeth being pulled...plus we just will be there Jan 6th for the graduation...thought maybe my ex husband would go...but he said probably not...Matt says that he would not really want to go with a "random family"...HELP!!!  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

Denise

Hi Denise - Ah very happy that you got a letter AND he sounded good !!! What a wonderful THanksgiving weekend blessing :):) I know what your saying about Christmas ..... sure wish we could go out to - but we are in Oregon .... a little far beings we will be there for graduation two weeks later .....I feel terrible but no way around it !! I am sure Matt will understand your situation and I hear there are some great people who volunteer to have the SR's for holidays!!

Hope your having a great weekend !!

Kim

Good morning ladies!!

Hope you all are doing well and had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Black Friday.  Well, it's week 3 and our babies are still standing. Isn't that a wonderful feeling to know that despite everything we helped them be as strong as they are! Cause I want to think I had a little to do with the fact that she's as strong as she is.  Let's hope this week will bring us many letters and at least one phone call to help put our hearts at ease.

Have a wonderful week ladies God bless!

- miriam

Great post!!

I finally got real letters on Friday. He sounded so good. He said he had found a church service that was like our home church. Which was such a blessing to know this was a priority for him. Which also adds to that strength that he is displaying with his ship mates!!

Have a great day ladies be blessed!!

Pam

Hi ladies, that is tremendous being able to have a church like home ...wow! I got another letter yesterday...again sounding great...I told him that I was on this page and connected with some other nice moms..he says they are all curious which ones of us ....is it ok to share this info with Matt? If yes just send me first name and last initial and home town and let's see if they can connect the dots...could be fun!

Best,
Denise

Denise,

What a fun game to play!! His name is Chad H and is from Cameron

ABSOLUTELY I LOVE IT!!

Lauren J / Chicago, IL

love to hear the feedback! :)

Just got a phone call!! He sounded so home sick!!!!!!!!! But he is doing good. Best call I've had in a while!!

I got the phone call and she sounded great! Wow talk about putting your heart at ease. She says she has her good days and her bad days. When it's good it's okay and when its bad... it's brutal. The fact that she's still standing is a testiment to how strong she is and how strong they ALL are as a team! Ladies, we should ALL be proud of our kids we did an EXCELLENT job considering they don't come with instructions.

She's craving a nice long shower, a nap in her bed and a big bag of Flaming Hots... sounds like my girl :)

Denise, I also told her about the navy moms but she said that she doens't know ANYONE by their first name. She knows everyone in her division by last names only... (funny uh?)
