Me, too! No call today. Hopefully we'll get letters tomorrow!

Same here, No letters or phone calls yet.  But tomorrow is Monday so hopefully my mail woman will make me a happy camper!

And hopefully when I receive the coveted letter....I can read his handwriting...actually, just getting a letter would be enough! The "I love you guys" in the first letter was very clearly printed! :)

These are my impressions from what I've been reading.  The only time they have that is relatively unstructured is a half day on Sunday.  During these precious 4 hours they might opt to write a letter.  Or they could go to church (I hear that the Church with the free donuts is very popular).  They might spend a few thrilling hours perfecting the Navy way to fold your tighty whities.  I think this schedule has room for improvement.  What if you took your underwear to the Church of the free Donuts, fold them during the sermon, then write a letter on the napkin you got with the donut.  It seems to me that this optimizes the SRs limited time and energy.  There is a risk that some recruits may feel hesitant to express their true feelings about boot camp in a church.  This may not be a bad thing.  What do you think, Yea or Nay?

Mult-tasking at its finest! Love it!

I got a letter from my son on Sat, I couldn't see the postmark but it had to be written midweek since he answered some of my questions from a letter I wrote last Monday, so I bet you ladies should get a letter today.

CONGRATS!!!!! How are they liking the Division? My son said he likes it.....I can't enough how much of a relief it is to get that first letter!!

Hey everyone! My finace is in this division too! I got 4 letters today from him, I'm so excited! I was also in a performing 900 division when I was in the Navy and just so you all know, it actually has nothing to do with PT scores/ability. 900's are actually held to a higher standard of excellence than the regular divisions are and are considered the best of the best at boot camp! Also, he said that them calling home this week depends on how everyone's PT scores go. That was written on the 22nd so if we get a call, I guess everyone did great! Scott says he loves it! Hope everyone else got great news too!

I got our first real letter today too.  But I still don't know what a Staff Division does.  What do they do?  In addition to what all the others do that is.  Did anyone get what week-day they are on?  I'm guessing early week 3 after P-days and all but I'm just guessing.  I need this piece of information to maintain my fragile grip on the delusion that I am in some mimiscule way in conrol of this whole process.  Somebody throw me a bone here.  Please.

Are you sure? Usually they swim in week two and Scott wrote that he had already passed his swim qual...

it might just be because of the holiday? however if he said he was starting swim classes that means he didnt pass his swim qual. recruits only spend one day at the pool and if they dont pass their test, they have to go back for classes until they can pass. I hope your son is doing well :)

Have you gotten a call from him since?

It's possible, Scott said that he was starting to talk more with other SR's :)
