Am I the only one? I keep seeing later divisions posted but not 043... If you're out there, friend me!

Nope!  My son is there!  My daughter came in the the form letter yesterday, and I was teasing her.  She sounded like that lady for the Target commercials. "IT'S HERE!  IT'S HERE!"  She took her shoes off and ran the letter in!  I think she was as excited as everyone else, even though she says she only misses him because of the extra chores she has to do.

I am wondering if everyone in the DIV is nuke?  DJ signed in March, and waited until Nov 15 to ship after going Nuke.

Made your travel plans yet?

I did that today! The mail truck pulled up and I bolted for the door then ran back in yelling "it's here!". It was so Sam telling me not to cry and his brother to pull his head out of his #%€. His little brother got I to some trouble right before he left so he's still gotta give him brotherly advice from afar. Sam's also a Nuke signed in March, DEP'd until Nov. This is going to be a wild 2 years!

Just looked at Southwest and round trip is $260. Still researching the hotel but leaning toward the Radison or whichever has the suites. My youngest is over 6' and snores really loud so a separate room is best.

I work nights, so I had the hubby doing to computer magic for the trip.  We missed this morning, because he had to work today, so hopefully, before I head in tonight, I will find out some trip details!

The letter I got was a huge relief!  He told me his recruiter overstated how bad it was going to be, and he said, and I quote "it's great in fact."  He said he has a nickname already, they call him Starwatch.  I just know he loves that.

We looked at Southwest, but everyone keeps telling me to get refundable, or changeable tickets, in case the unmentionable happens, and the PIR date changes for some reason.  It REALLY changes the price of the ticket to get refundable.

I just booked our trip. Southwest doesn't charge any fees to change the flight, just the difference in air fare. I figure the fares are so cheap now that "if" something happens, i bite the bullet and spend my tax refund to change it. We are staying at the Residence Inn since it has a 2 bedroom. Total for Thursday thru Monday with a car rental was $1,801. I've been saving since he enlisted so I had enough for that and his birthday/Christmas/graduation present too!

Sam said he liked it too!
Welcome Joycemac! 3 Nukes, that's awesome... I know they all go to school at Goose Creek but I think I read somewhere that the A school for MM is only 3 months while the others are 6.

Hi All,

Glad to have found some 09/43 folks!  Our son isn't a nuke, he will be an AC(air traffic control).  Learned from his form letter that he is the Yeoman for this division, one thing that means that all your mail will go through his hands.  I wasn't going to go to PIR but now have found that I can't stay away!  Hope this division teams up well and earns lots of phone calls!  Paula, Mom of Steve

I got a phone call!  We only got 2 min 46 seconds, but I got to hear his voice.  He said he is running on a 21 hour day, but doing ok.  No one has gotten any mail yet, and they haven't had a chance to write any more than was on the form letter.  I guess I can stop lurking over the mail box.

Wow! Great CJ!  When did he call? Glad he is doing well dispite long days.

I just got off the phone after we hung up.  He needed routing information for his account, so he got to call.  I am so glad I didn't miss it.  I was in bed, but my  daughter answered and brought it to me.

Darn it! I shouldn't have been so efficient and put that voided check in his wallet!

That's funny!  He had all the information with him too, but it went on walk about.  I saw someone else on here say division 044 was making phone calls yesterday.  I was thinking that we missed it by one number.

I am OCD about the countdown on the PIR page?  Does anyone else here check it multiple times per day?  I was so happy when it dropped under 50.  I really like the weather ticker too.  I have to compare it to our weather every day.
