Yeah! Another Div 028.  I found one more.   We are on Facebook too. My son, George is in this Div.  He is 19 and we are from AZ.  Thanks for the post.

my son is in div 028 ship 03... he keeps telling me to check the facebook page, but I cannot find it... do you have the link?

My Son is also in Division 028, ship 03.  There is a facebook page: U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command... it has lots of great information.  Press "forum" and you can see the picture that was taken of Division 028 for somebody winning the contest of guessing a scrambled picture correctly.

The picture was a great surprise.  I wish they would start the contest again.  It is on hiatus till after the holiday.  My son is on the front row, 2nd from the left!

My son, Zachary, is in this Division as well.  He is the guy that yells Tattoo-Tattoo every night.  Well at least I think every night!  We are from the Eastern shore of MD.

Hi Everyone!  My son is 03/028!  Would love to meet more moms!! Roland Seth Barnes- headed to Texas after PIR for A School!!

Just a heads up on the ribbons some of you guys have been ordering to wear to PIR. All the ribbons that I have received payments for were shipped today. Please let me know what you think of them when they arrive. I know you will all wear them with pride when you see your Sailors. If anyone else would like more info on ordering the ribbons just send me a friend request on this site or an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com   Thanks so much :-)

Hotel- check .....Flight- check.......rental car- check.......ribbons for PIR ordered - check.......The Sailor's Bible ordered- check......Proud Navy Mom sweatshirt and t-shirt ordered-check......Navy Journal for Seth ordered- check........Navy hat ordered for stepdad- check..........December 29th here I come! LOL

ack! I feel so behind! I don't have a ribbon.. didn't know about them.. where can I find them and how much and could it be delivered before the 27th? There's a place to buy sweat shirts? Is everyone dressing up or going casual for the big event?

Hi millrswife- a couple of posts up you will see about the ribbons. Her name is Lala and she makes them for PIR. Check with her and she can send pictures and you can order. She is in NC so you will have to check on if she can do by the 27th. She is only about an hour from me here. I ordered my shirts from Cafe Press. Several sites have some really nice shirts, hoodies, etc. From what I have read it is best to go casual to PIR. The weather and walk to the graduation hall are mentioned several times and comfortable layers. I will probably wear jeans and a sweater. BTW- your not behind I just went crazy yesterday while my hubby was out of the house and had some time. LOL

Dear families of Ship 03 Div 028. I am begging for some help please. My husband and I will not be able to attend my son's graduation on December 29th. My husband's Dad passed away on December 15th with the funeral on December 21st. We live in Vancouver, Washington State (just across from Portland, Oregon)
and we have taken lots of time off from work to be down in Fairfield, California helping his Mom with the medical transitions before the death and after. By the time the air cleared and we looked into flights from Portland OR, to Chicago it was going to be $800.00 plus each, not including hotel room and rental car. My son has called and asked us not to come. He said we would not be able to see him before the graduation and that we might be able to see him all but 1 hour after because he will have to get back and get his gear, check out, and catch the shuttle to Ohare for his flight home that same afternoon. He does not want to stay in Chicago to play tourist. He wants to come home for 5 days. I have received his flight itinerary, and his plane departs Chicago at 5:00p.m. on the 29th to arrive home in Portland at 8:30 p.m. If my Husband and I were to even go, we would be there less than 36 hours. We do not have the extra time or finances for such a short trip..We would have liked to see the sites of Chicago at least, but would rather be at home preparing for our son's homecoming. THIS IS OUR BEGGING REQUEST PLEASE: PICTURES OF THIS DIVISION AT GRADUATION!!..he told us that he will be holding one of the flags. Not sure how many flags there will be, it looks like maybe 5 to 6 in front of each row in the division? Kellen is half Filipino and half English. (Filipinish!!) so his coloring is more on the darker side. No glassed and jet black hair. Anybody taking pictures, would you please keep us in mind and share what you have taken, and if by chance you pick him out, could you snap a picture of him. It will be greatly appreciated and no amount of "THANKS" will be enough. We have 30+ friends and family that will be at the Portland airport to share in his homecoming. my e-mail address is g3boys@comcast.net...would love to somehow get copies of any pictures..via e-mail or postal system...please contact me, something can be hopefully workd out. Thank you, Pete and Sandy Anderson
