My son is also 18 and will have his birthday before he graduates. I got his first letter yesterday. It was like an early Christmas present. It was short and sweet and the best letter I have ever received. He is in Div 021. I miss him so much and am so proud of him. He also graduated from high school in May.
I'm also flying in on 12/28 but staying at the Ramada.

Letters help and congrats on getting one today!  We've only gotten one...well two.  The second one was not really a letter as my son mailed us letters/cards he rcvd from friends and family over the past wk.

Take care and welcome to the group!

Sure am missing my son.  I've been doing so good.  Busy with work...but had some down-time today and had too much quiet time.  Praying for him at this moment.  Praying that he is strong.  (stronger than his mom!) Hope all of you are doing good.  43 days and counting...

Hello everyone....I am new to your group.  My daughter was originally scheduled to PIR on 12/2, but unfortunately has been set back in training to 12/29.  I'm certainly no expert in Bootcamp, but since my daughter has already been there nearly 7 weeks, I might be able to answer some questions.  I'd love to get to know all of you since my daughter is now in your division and we will be at graduation on 12/29.

Anyone interested in starting a private group on Facebook for PIR 12/29?  I was in a group for 12/2 and it was a great place to exchange information for our particular graduation date, including things that the Facebook RTC site does not allow.  We all talked about purchasing banners for when our Sailors come home.  I was surprised how close we all got because it was such an easy platform to see what is really going on with each other.

There is a company that is giving out FREE banners for military families right now (pay shipping only).  Private message me and i'll let you know the details!  I ordered one for my daughter when she was going to come home for Christmas, but now she won't be home until December 29.  Unfortunately, I had her Ship/Division/Graduation Date on the banner.  Yikes.  Now I have to either stop the shipment and change it, or I have to throw it away!  Be careful about ordering anything in advance with your recruit's Ship/Div on it.....you just never know.  I know that doesn't sound very positive, but it happened to us.

My son is in 009 / 024.  I would like to join your FB group also. Thank you, Paula

Mine too. I got to talk to him today. My week will a lot righter now.
That's wonderful Pressleys mom! I am praying for our kids division as well as their brother division 022. Have a great day and even better week!

Just a heads up on the ribbons you guys have been ordering to wear to PIR. All the ribbons that I have received payments for were shipped today. Please let me know what you think of them when they arrive. I know you will all wear them with pride when you see your Sailors. If anyone else would like more info on ordering the ribbons just send me a friend request on this site or an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com   Thanks so much :-)

It's been a long week of missing my child. 19 days 20 hours till I can see his precious face. He writes every chance he can. It picks me right up. However his absence doesn't seem to get any easier as the days pass by. I miss him hugging me and telling me that he loved me each night before bed. I hope the next 19 days flies by!!!!

THRILLED that we only have 19 days to go!  Praying December goes by much faster than November did.  Have wonderful day and even better weekend ladies!

Well my son should have gone to the gas chamber today. I didn't get a call, I'm thrilled...no news is good news!!!! 17 days till I can see the man the Navy made him into!!! I was always impressed with the child he was, I can't wait to see the man he's becoming.
