My fiance is an OS, or will be. And his recruiter wont be straight with us on how many school sessions he will have. I know he will have A school in virginia beach. But I would like to know if he has B and C school or just B school? And how long they will be, if anyone can help me out that would be great! :)

There are no B schools in the Navy.  C schools vary a great deal.  As for A school, you may be able to find the length of the school itself, but what you won't know ahead of time is the length of the holds while waiting to class up, or waiting for orders after.  That's why the recruiter cannot give you a straight answer, there is a lot of hurry up and wait involved.

If you're trying to plan a wedding... don't right now.  You can't at this point, you will know more when he checks into his A school.

Like Anti M said nothing is set in stone and thats why he cant tell you. I wish his recruiter would have told us there is not a known timline. Honestly, it sucked for him to get to A school and be told even though the recruiter said he would start immediately upon arrival and be done very shortly, He was told upon arrival the wait to class up is anywhere from 1 month to 6 months. They knocked on his door at 5am and said be in class by 0600. Welcome to the Navy. I would look into finding info about his A school if you can if there is a group on here for it. But My husband is on his first ship and still has a possibility of getting a C school in the middle of his upcoming deployment. But who knows! He didnt know til he was almost done with A school if he for sure wasnt going to have a C school

For an OS A school is in Great Lakes NOT Virgina I think it used to be.  My husband is an OS and I live in NC so I totally would have rathered it been in Virgina, but it is not.  His A school was about 8 weeks? He waited about 2 weeks to class up (waiting until a class was ready for him) and then he got orders about a month before he graduated.  He MIGHT go to C school this spring but a lot of them don't.  To get an idea with his situation he graduated bootcamp June 17 and graduated A school August 23 and reported to his first duty station September 7...So it all went fast for him.

thankyou :) this helped a great deal!

OS "A" School is in Great Lakes, IL..moved there about 5 years ago..I know as my husband was one of the people who assisted in moving it.

The recruiter is being smart!  They can't guess what the holds will be or how long he might have to wait for orders.  Also not being rude...but you aren't familiy so of course the recruiter won't give you info.
