My boyfriend went to a hotel in Buffalo on Sunday Dec 4th and I got the "I'm here call around 11:30pm".  It's gotten a little harder as the days go by that I don't get to talk, but I'm determined not to cry and just keep myself busy!!  I'm supposed to be getting the box and the form, though I thought his parents got that, but I'm looking forward to being able to write letters to him.  Love to hear from anyone that is in the same boot camp!!

Your SR can address the box and the form letter to whoever he pleases, so you or his parents. The first couple weeks before you get a real letter from him are the hardest. Then it becomes fun to look forward to his letters and not too long after you should get some calls. That all depends on his Div, RDCs, and their behavior. When I look back now it was rather exciting! But we also had two kids and he left when our youngest wasn't even a month old so I was VERY busy to say the least. Lol it will be a lot of fun to connect with moms and girlfriends from his division. I made a very good friend on this site and she and her now Sailor are coming to visit us at our first duty station! :) If you have any questions feel free to ask! I know there are so many knowledgable women on this site that can get it answered for you!

Ok thanks!!!  I have not been enjoying these first couple of days haha, but I think it'll be fine.  Btw, his recruiter told him he would probably get leave after boot camp and before A school, and eveything I have read said otherwise.  I'm assuming you agree :(?

I got the box already!! And he didn't get in til late Monday night so this is quick!

My boyfriend left Monday also, we got the box today and had short letters to his family and me. It hasnt been as bad as I thought yet! Keep busy! We called his recruiter and he gave us his address today so I over nighted about 3 or 4 letters to him so he can be sure to get them sunday. Ill just stick one in the mail each day from now on, but I wanted him to have it for sure Sunday. Im praying for bootcampers families this week, I have a new respect for military families! Ready to know his PIR date! Chicago will be nice and chilly :)

I've definitely been staying busy, and I was pretty cheery today!  I was actually kind of excited to get the box, it didn't really upset me at all.  It was just nice to feel connected to him somewhat :).  That's a good idea, I'll probably call his recruiter tomorrow and see.  And omg yes, I definitely have a new respect for them as well haha, it's quite different actually being in the whole process!  I'm excited to have found someone else with a bf in the same boot camp, and don't worry, I'm from Buffalo so unfortunately, we know all about nice and chilly haha.  Expecting 10 inches of snow tomorrow...booooo.

My hubby left 12.6.11. I have received his address (from his recruiters) but nothing else yet. I cant wait to hear when PIR will be! =)

My bf's ship 3 div 056, and I heard that div 055 and 056 are brother divisions and they have the same PIR.  The one mom recieved her form letter, and her son was DIV 055 and PIR was set for February 3rd!  That seems sooner than I was expecting though.  I can't wait to be able to have a countdown.

Got his info today! Ship 04 div 804 PIR is feb 3!! :) countdown begins!

Yes countdown begins!! SO excited to have something to look forward too!

Hello,

I saw this and immeadiately had to answer. I'm from New York as well. Orange County actually. My husband left for boot camp 12/5/11 as well. He is Division:058. And his PIR date is set for February 3rd! I can't wait to see him. I thought I'd get in contact with you since we live in the same state lol. Is your boyfriend's graduation the same date as my husbands? It's so nice to finally be able to communicate with someone who is going through the same thing as I am.

Oh ok, I've been to Orange county a few times!  You're right outside the city?  I've been to middletown and westchester a bunch and a few other places around there!  PIR is set for february 3rd!  I'm probably going to book a flight within the next week through southwest- no change fees!  And yes it is, this site has been very helpful:)

btw- join the PIR feb 3rd group, http://www.navyformoms.com/groups/group/show?groupUrl=2-3-2012-pir&... if you haven't already!
