Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 12 Division 049, PIR 1/27/12

Please join this discussion and let us know what you find out about our PR's while they are at boot camp. It would be nice to know who else will be graduating in this division.

Hello everyone,

 

I would love to know what you guys find out about our men/women who are at boot camp right now in this division. My husband is in this division and I want to know as much as possible about waht is going on. I'm sure that you would love to know more about your loved one also :)

My husband said that he passed the swim test and that they have chores and things that they have to do.  He said the thing that many are working on is the physical test.

I am from Texas....I think I'm going to stay with my stepdad's sister?  She lives close by...but I did make reservations at Quality Inn.

I didn't get the personal message. Is it supposed to be in my inbox? I'm still trying to navigate this site, sorry. I think that we are staying at the Comfort Inn that is 3.5 miles from the base. It was advertised in the brosure that was included with the form letter. My father-in-law made the reservations, so I'm not sure on details. We are planning to come Thursday morning in time to check in and relax before the meet and greet. We are flying out on Sunday so that we have as much time with SR as possible on Saturday at the Airport. He already knows that he flies out the very next day, but didn't have flight information yet. I am from Kansas, but am very excited to be stationed near the ocean! We don't really care where as long as there is a beach :)

My hubby said that he passed the first PT test. I was happy to hear him say that because it was one of the things he was most worried about prior to leaving.

Hello, thank you for starting this. I cannot wait to check this site. I had to stop following the other groups. My phone was getting overloaded with updates. Lol I am from central Illinois. I plan on going up on Thursday afternoon. We are staying at the Marriott 3 miles out. We have 11 of us going. I am staying all weekend also. I am also flying out of Chicago on Sunday morning for Nicaragua so hoping to get to hang with him. Will wait to find out his flight plans. Would be nice to hang at airport together.

Hi Tonya, my son is in 12/049, just got another letter from him today!  He said there's 82 people in the division, the RDCs are mean but good, one had a hall of fame division last year.  The food is good and the weather has been cold.  My son is trying to become RPOC (in charge?) and is one of the front runners because of his rank and good grades and his bunk is always on spot...what ever that means, lol.  Are you going to the meet and greet at the Ramada Inn the night before graduation?  It's free and sounds like fun to meet the other families!

Hi Everyone:

My husband is in this division - he's going to be a reservist (SeaBee) and he's the oldest. If anyone of your loved ones are mentioning this one old guy in his mid-thirties - that's him ; ) haha

We're in a bit of a different boat, in that he will actually come home after A-School. We're obviously hoping he doesn't get deployed, but every reservist I know has at one time or another - we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

We have a little girl, two dogs, a cat, a house - it seems the constant chaos plus my job keep me from thinking about his absence. I can't beleive it's been eigth weeks. I can't beleive I am actually this self-sufficient. It's been a crazy ride thus far - already had my first fight with Tricare any everything.

I'll be at Graduation but he flies out the next day and I will go home. Kind of bummed about the short visit but at least I can visit Mississippi. It's seven degrees here in coastal Massachusetts. I could really go for a warm weather hiatus right about now.

So, your husband is going to Mississippi for A-School?  To Meridian?  My son is going to Meridian for A-School.  He will be an AZ.  I don't know when he flies out, he just said he has to be there by Feb. 1.  We are just next door, in Arkansas, so he will be somewhat closer to home. 

Will you be attending the Meet and Greet at Ramada?  I am going to try to go.  We are driving up so it depends on how stressed I am by the time we get there.

Good Morning, Y'all!!!

I am so glad to have a group of our own!  I am almost obsessed, dwelling on what's going on with him.  I haven't recieved any phone calls and, other than the note on the form letter, only one letter.  I'm not worried about the physical end of training, in high school David played football, soccer, and ran track.  Although he's been out of school 4 years, he has kept in fairly good shape.  He and his friends belonged to a health club, and worked out together.  The swimming may be tougher.  He's never had formal swimming lessons, just sort of self taught. 

I look forward to communicating with all of you and will definatly share anything I hear!

Good morning!!!! I am glad that we have a group of our own as well:)))  Yeah...I think my hubby is worried about the physical test as well.  He passed the swim test....and I actually thought that he would have had more problems with that. But it's the physical training that he is having problems with.  I told him to stay strong and stay focused.  I've only received two letters and no phone call...so we'll see.
