My son left on Dec 5th and just got the box today. Any idea why the pant legs of his jeans were rolled up? Strange. Does anyone know when we get the letter? Has anyone received PIR info??????

Hello, my daughter graduated November 10, 2011, I received her PIR information letter three - four days after the box arrived home. I don't have any idea why his pants were rolled up. I know this time is difficult, I wrote letters and held them until I received the mailing information.
My son left 12/5 from Jax FL. There may be a note in the jeans? I think they are rolled up because they are fitted for shoes? I read something about that and can't find it now! We got the box as well but never a phone call.I read a posting they can write after 2 weeks - you can get his address from his recruiter. I can give you the format if they don't another mom gave it to me. My sailor is Ship 03 Div 056. Their is a sight to check PIR dates I'll try to find it again but I here the dates can possibly change so we will try to get refundable tickets. Im new to this sight and have been reading all sorts of things I did not know!
Stay in touch - request me as a friend if you would like - we can send messages. Someone mentioned not to share names and emails etc
Thank you our sailors arrived the same day!

Hi Jake'smom - The pant legs are rolled up because they are fitted for shoes. As they go through processing everything is a whirlwind and moves fast so they don't take the time to roll the pants down before they strip them off and toss them in the box. Your PIR info will come in your form letter - which usually gets to you 10 days or so after they get to Great Lakes - some do get theirs faster and others slower, so if you don't seen anything in 10 days don't panic it will come. You can get the info from his recruiter but there are times that they don't have the right info so waiting until you get your form letter to make any travel plans is the best way to go.
That's interesting about the rolled pant legs. We got our box and the pants were not rolled. We did get the short call in the afternoon. The form letter came with a short note on the back. I already sent him a card and letter.
We just finished up Marine boot camp with his brother in Nov so I feel like I know a little more of what to expect this time around.
The forums are a great support of others all dealing with the same situation.
Hi Lani, my son left Dec. 5 too. I got the letter today. It was so awesome and every time I read it I get emotional. I hope you get yours soon. I am still learning a lot about the Navy, but my son is in SEALS training. Is yours? I don't even know yet if there is a different name for it, or if they are all together, or separate. I am under the impression they are separate. His PIR date is Feb 3.....Take care

Within the group will be a divisional discussion for your sons division in the Discussion Forum area. He would be in an 800 division...which is for all of the recruits going through BC that are SPECOPS - SPECial OPerations. He will be in Ship 4/ Div 804 as this will be the fourth 800 division for the fiscal year (military fiscal year starts Oct 1). The discussion is already started. Please join in on that also and you can connect with the other moms from that division. Make sure you stay on the main pages of the group as that is where the veteran moms stay the most to answer questions and give advice and also where you can get to know other moms from the whole TG - Training Group.
I have looked for the group Ship 4/ Div 804 and have been unable to find it. Where would I look to find this group. Thanks.
My son left December 5th as well. I got the letter but not the box. The PIR date I received was February 3. Apparently there are 10 divisions with that PIR date. My son is Ship 12 Div 057. So far I haven't corresponded with anyone else whose SR is in that div. Several moms on this site have kiddos in the same barracks or Ship 12. Hope you get your form letter soon. I am awaiting the box.
Anyone have their family member at Ship 11 DIV 062?
