Hope you all are doing well and getting ready for graduation.... it will be here soon believe it or not.
The time really starts to fly by now, for us and the SRs.
Needing another letter! Last letter was short and concerning. There are 6 that have been sent home or delayed due to fractures and injuries :( Our daughter was getting a shot in her knee for pain, and would know Tuesday if it would cause a delay... am going on no news is good news and hoping the Tuesday mentioned was last Tuesday.
Getting really excited about graduation and can't wait to see my Sailor.
Happy Monday!
Oh my goodness, I hadn't heard about the injuries/fractures. I hope your daughter is good as new very soon! I'm pretty much doing the countdown to graduation and find I need to triple check all the arrangements I've made because with the Christmas and New Year holiday graduation will be here before I know it. Mostly I think about my son many, many times of the day and wonder what he's doing at that exact moment. Good night!
Hey has anyone receieved mail yet this week? The last 3 weeks I have received mail on Mondays and Thursdays from my SR, but this week nothing yet :(
Trying to remember the "No news is good news" rule, but I really REALLY miss him :(
We got 4 letters today. She said they are really busy and she barely has time to write, she writes a little when she can and then sends them out on their mail day. This week they have been getting up at 3:00 in the morning and have a lot of tests. This week is known as "hell week". She said it isn't bad, just really busy. I hope you get a letter soon.
I was getting a letter every 3 - 4 days and this week it has stopped. I am also subscribing to the no news is good news theory but it would be nice to hear something.
Morningbutterfly - let us know when you hear something from your daughter. Prayers for her and all the SRs to be safe and well!
Have a great day!
I don't know how the post offices are doing where all of you guys are, but here they are shutting down post offices. This is delaying a lot of letters lately. :( Tough time for post offices to be shutting down.
Sorry, ladies. I had to delete a post on here...much too much info disclosed. Please keep in mind that it will only hurt your SR and his/her division if you divulge too much info re: RDCs, etc. They do read these posts! It is much better to keep the info very general. There is nothing wrong with posting when they will be doing something, flags they earned, etc...but posting about "confusing" the RDCs, etc....not a good thing!
I invite the person whose comment I deleted to please post again with more general info. Sorry, the person who replied to that comment also got deleted, not by me, but when the original post went, so did yours. Sorry about that. Please feel free to post again!
I know several of you have ordered ribbons from me to wear to PIR. All of those orders have now been shipped. Please let me know what you think of them when they arrive. I am sure you will love them :-D With the holidays here the shipping seems to be taking an extra day or two depending on how far you are from me but hopefully you will all have them by this Friday or Tuesday at the latest. The mail doesn't run on Monday so letters from your SR's will probably be delayed next week as well. If anyone else would like to order the ribbons to wear to PIR to support your Sailor just send me a friend request on this site or send me an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com and I will send you all the ribbon info as well as some helpful tips for PIR. I hope you all have a great day.
:) I got a letter today --- happy Monday indeed!
My daughter is doing well, her knee still is a problem but she is pushing on and determined to graduate.
If I understand the letter to her father they have earned all but one flag -- they are doing awesome!
Hope you all are getting letters too.
Hello everyone! I received a letter from our SR yesterday dated 12-13. Lots of acheivements in Div 030. My understanding from his letter is Div 030 will be the 5th introduced on 1-6-12. See ya'll in 16 days! Merry Christmas and lets cross our fingers for phone call on Christmas Day!
I got a phone call on Saturday from my SR and he said they are really coming together and had great things to say about the whole experience so far. I did find out that if they are staying in GL for A-school that they get liberty for the weekend (except during the time they have watch) but they do not get to spend the nights off base. (I had heard that they did get to at first - not true) I got my DIV 030 t-shirts today with their flag design on the back - very interesting design. Just think - graduation is just two weeks from tomorrow!!!
morningbutterfly - so glad your daughter is hanging in there. She's a tough one!
