OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

No call, He did call his uncle and grandpa. I was sad, but I don't think he remembers my cell number ... (stupid speed dial, you don't have to memorize any phone numbers anymore). I was pretty sad, but glad he got to talk to someone.

@kristi....I made my son memorize my cell for the same reason! Luckily they shared with you and I'm glad you got an update. They didn't have all that long, only 30 minutes, so next time :)....

Got a letter girls! Time to go walk your dogs Cristina...LOL

@Samantha, I checked already , none, my mail comes on Thursdays. I have to wait another day, it's ok another day to look forward to. Did you send him your Christmas letter yet or card? I just mailed mine today, it was a little hard emotionally but I did it. He will be gone a month tomorrow

I know, I know, just want your dogs to have an extra walk....HaHa....My hubby had sent a Christmas card before your card update the last time....I am going to send him a Christmas collage in the next day or two, trying to spread out letters so he gets something every day or at minimum every other day. I miss him, but the proudness out weighs the missing most of the time :)

I received a letter today.  It is great to hear from him.  He is staying warm.  I was concerned that my southern son might get cold.  He misses sleeping late and long showers.

Excellent Sharon! My son said they wear so many clothes that he roasts to death...Montana Boy...LOL

Oh and Sharon, if you don't mind answering, has your son already seen his pay in his account? I asked 3 wives/moms and their SRs had received theirs, but my son's hasn't been received yet....

I don't know.  I will see what I can find and let you know.

Thanks, just wondering if I need to tell him. He doesn't have any bills, so not earth shattering, just wanted to show him he actually has money from a "real" job...LOL

My son doesn't have any bills, so I have not really worried about it.

I wrote him to check, 'cause I know he will want to check into it....
