Husband is in boot camp that started 12/7/11.. worried about pay/miltary id

I am worried about when we will be getting paid and how that all works out, I know he probably has gotten it taken care of.. but I can't help worry being in the dark. We have this upcoming month's bills covered, but I am worried about the time after that. Is there anyway to make sure he got direct deposit setup correctly and to find out when he will be getting paid?

Or do I just have to wait it out and hope for the best?

Also, the recruiter said to get my military id I will have to wait till during his graduation, that we should have time to get it during his graduation day. Is that true?

Also, do they help move for his schooling after basic or do we need to save up.. sorry for so many questions.. I asked his recruiter about all this and he told me to come to this site...

Here is a Page that may help you:  When Will the Recruits be Paid? (clickable link)

Your husband will send you a letter soon that has information on DEERS and getting your ID--you can get it while he is still at the RTC.

You may wish to join the group, Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors (clickable link), and ask the question about moving.  I'm a mom and didn't have to deal with that and although I've seen it discussed some, I am not sure of the particulars.  I do know that it depends on the length of his A School whether you will be able to be moved for that or if you will have to wait until after A School when he has his first duty station.

I hope that helps some and I'm sure others will chime in as well.

thank you so much. Will definitely check out the link you gave me, every little bit helps.

I wish you the best.  I put in the link rather than copying and pasting the information.  I hope that when you know his PIR date that you will join the group for that and you will find more info that will be helpful to you as you start on this journey.

You could also join a group for his future rating (I see you have joined one) and ask questions there because there may be wives who have recently gone through what you will soon be facing.  (You can check Ratings, A School Locations, and Links to Groups (clickable link) to see if there is another group for his rating and/or A School that you are interested in.)

I general, his A school must be six months or longer to move a dependent.  Even if you have a paid move, it is best to have a fund for out of pocket and unexpected expenses.  Right now, you can prepare by pruning down your belongings, get rid of things you don't need, old clothes, magazines ad so on.  When the move comes, it comes fast.

When my son made it to A school, one week later the call came that we had to get everything packed and ready to roll AND go buy furniture.  DIL and I had 1 week to pack EVERYTHING (she had already started with items that she wasn't using while staying with us), then he came home for a couple of days, retrieved (stole LOL) my DDIL from us and I worked with the moving company to get everything picked up and delivered to Goose Creek.  They were only without their furnishings for about 3 days.

Wow, its good to now, you all have given me a ton of good information and I really appreciate it. =)

Goose Creek is the only school command I know of which lets the sailors go get their spouses.  All other schools make the wives do the move by themselves.

oof, alright. That will be rough if that is the case, but we shall get through it.
